Last year and this year I dressed up as a pirate for halloween (Pirates don't need haircuts). This year the weather was unusually warm and pleasant so I was able to fulful my hopes of sitting out in the boat drinking rum and firing off the cannon (just a bang - no projectiles) at the little kids.
I had a grand time and the kids seemed to have fun too. Unfortunately I was (again) too generous with the candy and had to shut down early. We ended up with about 60 kids of all sizes coming by to steal my treasure of gum eyeballs and chocolate bugs and skeletons.
Sweet costume. I considered being a pirate with long hair before settling on Conan. Long hair makes for great costumes.
Aye-Aye and Well Done, Cap'in
That is the SWEETEST set up for halloween I've seen! Not gore and scare (where little kids don't have fun, anyway), but a truly entertaining and imagination-inspiring tribute to His Noodly-Appendage's own prophets.
I raise my tankard of Rum to you, good sir!
Arrgh!
Shawn (Mr.Crow)
PS Me and the Missus had a party and we both dressed as pirates, too. Sorry, though. No ship.
Lookin' good Shawn - your costume certainly beats mine.
I must confess that I "did" end up scaring a few of the wee kids. The cannon makes quite a bang - it turns out that a 4-year old can get quite a turn of speed on to them as well.... They were happy to get their handful of treasure afterwards though.

Great outfit and in a few years you don't have wear a wig anymore.
Wow that is awesome with the ship and the cannon, you sure make work of it.
Thanks Vincent - the boat's been a "work in progress" for a couple of years now. I'm hoping to launch next summer.
