I just got an article on my newsfeed on a teenager walking barefoot across America from coast to coast who reached Tennessee. I clicked on it, interested, and magine my surprise when i found out he was a longhair! I included a pic here, and a link to his blog:

Not quite the same but here's me hiking barefoot here in California. Did 4 miles that day. Excuse the weird look on my face. I was dealing with the bright sun... :-)

There are places here in Georgia that look a little like that. :-) (I guess California really does have nearly everything!)

One thing nice about this area [Northern California]... you can be driving down the coast, beautiful view of the ocean, cool ocean breeze, and then be in a redwood forest 10 minutes later!

Heaven help the young man if he gets into New England and some early snow. The poor guy would likely get frostbite of the feet and have to be carried the rest of the way. Yikes! :-0
