My apologies for the poor quality of these pics, but had to use the old bathroom mirror trick.
This first pic is when I'd just taken it down after having it braided for two days. My wife braided it for me while it was still damp after a shower.
This one is after finger-combing it

Well, some of the wave happens naturally, but a lot of it comes from braiding it damp and leaving it that way 'til its dry, which anyone with hair long enough to braid can accomplish. As far as the length, time will tell... [grin]

Great update, you got some awesome curls.
I really like your hair when just got the braid out.
I've got a question, I always hear it's not good to brush curly hair and I think your hair looks better when it's not brushed.
Do you have reason to brush it?
Well, mine is much more wavy than curly, and the braiding emphasizes that waviness even more. I brush mine periodically to help distribute the natural oils down the length. And in the case of the pics from this morning, I brushed it more to see the effect it would have on the waves from the braiding, as compared to finger-combing and using a comb. Actually, it's really not that curly, certainly nothing like Glasseyes or Mr.Crow. The upper parts (down to my neck, roughly) are fairly straight, possibly because I spend a lot of time with it tied back.

I'm sure there's a lot of people here who would wish for your hair thickness and length. It looks great and always has, you have some of the thickest hair I've seen. Do you think you're nearing terminal length yet? Thanks for sharing, and if you think of it, take a pic of it braided and post it. I bet it looked great.

Thanks, Mouse. The pic I chopped the avatar from most of it is hanging down behind my back. I'm fairly fond of the waves it gets from braiding. I may have to see if my wife will braid it after my showers more often. Or finally learn to do it myself [grin]

Oh believe me, there's some gray sprinkled around in there. My wife likes to give me a hard time because I have some gray and she (who's a bit older than me) doesn't. I tell her the same thing I tell anyone else who comments on the gray:
It can be whatever color it wants, as long as it's still attached to my head, I'm happy!!!
A teacher of me when I was young said the same, he was grey at an very early age. He didn't have longhair more a sort of beatle look he was happy to have grey hair instead of bald.
