Hello to everyone on the MLHHB, I hope that you have all been well in health and of course hair growth!
Those of you who know me on here may have noticed that I haven't posted for quite some time now, although I have been visiting the board every couple of days or so. 2008 has proved to be a pretty eventful year for me; I have had 2 enjoyable holidays on both sides of the world (Singapore for a family reunion and USA), reached the grand old age of 24, and also went on tour with my band all over England which was a great experience (I am their lead guitarist).
Anyway, in terms of my hair I haven't had it trimmed since my last update in January this year and it is now well into the realms of mid-back length. My hair routine hasn't changed at all in that time- I wash it with shampoo and conditioner every 2-3 days, air-dry it, and brush it twice daily.
So, now for the news: I have booked an appointment with a salon and will probably be having my hair cut to a short length. I have been debating in my own mind for the last couple of months whether this would be the right choice and I do feel that I want to go back to having short hair for a period of time, although I am certain that I will definitely return to having long hair in the near-future.
I would like to thank all of you fantastic people on the MLHHB for the support and encouragement that you have given me, I have appreciated it all very much! I will still be reading the board and will post occasionally, but you shan't see any pictures of my hair until I decide to grow it back out again because I feel that would be inappropriate on this board.
Thanks for reading, and as always any comments or questions are welcome.
-Chris
EdgeCrusher, Fantastic hair and great goatee!
peace, jonalbear
Thanks for the compliments, even though my hair is long no more.
hey EdgeCrusher, long time no see . What is the name of your band? I am in the UK and would check you out if you came near Bristol.
As for your hair, mate if you need to take a break from longhairdom, then do it, you are young enough to do it all over again many times. It looks great by the way.
Anyway, good luck with everything, and maybe I'll see you on tour.
Cheers Dave
Thanks Nuttidave, I appreciate your comments. I've had a good 6 years of long hair so I've had plenty of enjoyment from it but now a change is in order. You're right, I will have plenty of opportunities to grow it again in the future and I will also get to enjoy the journey from short to long hair again!
My band's name is Blood Divided, and we have a MySpace page which is: www.myspace.com/f**kblooddivided (remove the stars and replace with the relevant letters!). I will let you know if we are going to play in Bristol at some point, I think you may like our new material (it's quite different to what is up on our site, but still heavy). My address is: www.myspace.com/cas_84.
Cheers!
-Chris
Long hair does look great on you Chris, but it does sound like you've given this some careful thought and are at peace with your decision. You're young so there's always another time to go back to long hair.
Much success in the future,
Bruce
Thanks for the kind words, Scooper. :o)
Sorry to hear that you're cutting it. However, we all have to make some changes in our lives. I wish you the best, and glad to hear that you will eventually grow it back. Your hair looks quite nice. =)
-James
Thanks James, I appreciate your words! :o)
Hi Chris. Your hair is straight, healthy, and is at my desired length. You look good with long hair. I strongly suggest you cancel the appointment to the salon and stay a permanent long hair.
Matthew, aka Regardless
I had it cut today, so possibly a tad too late for that now! Thanks for your comments and compliments.
Fantastic hair, I hate to see it go; but it's YOUR HAIR and that's what matters.
Absolutely, I could not agree more. Thanks for the kind words.
Hi Chris,
Well I certainly do remember you and was wondering lately what has become of some old time users who have stopped posting. At least now I know what you've been up to.Sounds like you had quite a busy year or so but its very disappointing that you are giving up on being a longhair. But hey, its your decision so I hope you'll like the results or else you'll be regrowing your hair on the day after:)Good luck in your future endeavors my friend.
Mark
Hi Mark, good to hear from you. :o)
I have now had it cut, and I'm definitely happy with the way that it has turned out so I won't be growing it back just yet!
Thanks for the kind words.
Chris;
Funny...I was thinking of you earlier in the day....
As your greatest fan, I would be wrong to criticize your decision....as a matter of fact, at the "Grand Old Age of 24" I encourage you to explore all of Life's options and adventures.
Best of Luck to you, my friend and please keep in touch with the MLHH board.
Walter
Hi Walter, thank you for your words and it's nice to hear from my "greatest fan" once again! :o)
I will definitely keep in touch with the board, because there are some really great people on here such as yourself for example. :o)
Thanks again my friend.
Hey ! It's a great update ! I like the look. I must try to shape my goatee like yours. Sad that you want to cut it, but I can perfectly understand your desire... And nice to hear that hair will regrow :)
Good bye,
Vivien
I certainly will grow it out again at some point. :o)
Thanks!
Dude, your hair is so awesome, and it is in such great shape, shiny and smooth.I see no point in cutting it,but It's your hair afterall,so do what you feel like doing, but If I had such incredible hair I would never cut it.Take care =).
Thanks for your words Rafael. :o)
Well, Happy late 24th Birthday, and hope you had a nice time in the US and that everyone was friendly and left you with a good impression of the country. Congrats too on your music career. Lead guitarist! Wow.
I think by cutting your hair back short, it will tell you how much you really did or didn't like long hair -- kind of a reevaluation for yourself -- this is always important -- that we think about things and know why we do what we do. The good thing is that you can do whatever you want and still look handsome. Good too that it'll grow back when you so choose. I'll hazard a guess; I say you'll keep and enjoy short hair for a year, then begin regrowing. Shall we put 5 quid on it? HAHA!
Good luck and see you soon...

£5 is quite a lot of money considering the current recession affecting everyone's spending, so consider it a bet!
Well, today I went through with the cut and I am without a doubt pleased with what was done. I still stand by what I said before and think that I will definitely grow my hair back out someday, but I do agree with what you have said- sometimes you need to experience these things in order to understand better what your true feelings are.
Thanks again, and especially for the "handsome" comment... you flatter me!
Wow, Chris! That's a great looking head of hair. I'd hate to see you cut it, but you gotta do whatcha gotta do. I cut mine all off in 2005 because the growth seemed very slow and I was afraid I had reached terminal length. I enjoyed updating so much, but it got to a point where it wasn't really showing any progress. The long and short of it is that I grew it back and now, at the age of 48, I'm at 2 1/2 years of growth and have enjoyed the journey back to longhairdom...so it's never too late to grow it out again. I'm sure your stylist will ask if you're sure you want to go short with it. Might I suggest a happy medium...don't cut too much off. Keep a longhair look, just shorter than it is now. Whatever your decision I wish you the best and certainly hope you come back and post your progress!
Take care and start growin' again soon!
Brett
Growing My Hair Out...Again! Progress Pics
Hi Brett, nice hearing from you again.
My hair is now short but not overly short so I am pleased and have ample length to allow for different styles. I'm sure that I will make the journey to becoming a longhair again one day and it will be an enjoyable one as yours has been. I hope that you enjoy the remainder of your journey equally as much!
Thank you for your words.
Glad to hear from you, although the message is not so good as I really like longhair. (Who wouldn't on a longhair board :p)
But it sounds like you've gave it a carefull thought so it's your choise in the end.
Thanks for your comments Vincent. :o)
Hi Chris, as usual, I am green with envy. What you do with your hair is your choice. We have all enjoyed watching your hair journey. I hope you change your mind, but again, that is your choice.
Please check in with us once in a while. We are really one big family. Perhaps we'll see you make another long hair journey. Wishing you all the best! TLH
Thanks TLH, always good to hear from you.
I will definitely post on this board every now and then so this is certainly not the end. :o)
Thanks again, and may I suggest that you get that skin condition seen to... you've turned green too many times for my liking! ;o)
I have now returned back to having fairly short hair, but I'm definitely pleased with the way that the new hairstyle looks. As I said before, I feel that I will undoubtedly return to having long hair one day, but for the time being I shall enjoy wearing it short.
Thanks again for all your messages, I am very grateful for them!
