Hi folks,
I was just starting to grow out my hair when my son was born...
Here we are three years later (today)...
I'm thrilled with both.
Especially my son Jericho!
I always wanted to be a longhaired father.

Interesting hair texture, mostly large waves that end in tight curls. Congrats on the new hair length, and on fatherhood. The little guy is a real cutie patootie.
Thanks for the kind words everyone.
I love this community, even if I don't post as much as I'd like.
I'll try to address everyone's questions:
Regarding the difference in texture from wavy to curly at the ends, could that be from wearing a ponytail most of the time (even when sleeping)? It seems that my hair is very curly starting where the ponytail begins.
Regarding the thickness, probably genetic but believe it or not I've been fighting MPB for nearly twenty years. So far I am winning the battle. Feel free to email me if anyone is interested in my regimen. neohippyx@hotmail.com
As to my son having a ponytail, well, perhaps when he is old enough to ask to grow his hair out. I think if he begged his mom, she would go for it. But she likes him with short hair right now and well... I've learned to pick my battles. Lol.
More kids? Perhaps. We are also considering adoption.
Thanks everyone.
Again, this is a very special community and I am proud to be a small part of it.
Ciao.
Hi. Your son is cute, but what really interests me is your hair and how your texture changes as you go down towards the ends of your hair. It starts off straight on your head, progressing to waves, before coming to tight curls at the end. I have never seen hair in multi-texture before. Whatever you do, do not cut away your hair.

isn't it fun how they hang on your hair when they are little! Anyway, I guess you are past that stage with this one. Any plans to have more?
Hello ! You have really thick hair, and I would never have guessed seeing the first photo that you would have these great curls. Your son can be proud of his father's hair :)
Bye

Hi Neohippy,
Congratulations on 3 years of growing your hair, and Happy third birthday to your son!
You are blessed with the most awesome thick and curly hair, so be sure to keep it growing!
Keep it growing,

In three more years, will Jericho also be sporting a ponytail ??

Lovely! You and Jericho are looking great!
At a local Denny's, I saw a grandpa with a long silver ponytail with a big white beard, and next to him, a grandson with nice blond ponytail.

Your hair looks fantastic. There are 2 possible reasons your hair has more curls at the ends. Your newer growth is straighter. Gravity has pulled it straight. It may even be a combination of both. Great hair great update. Long hair forever.

nice pictures. your hair is very thick and healthy looking, and i like the contrast from wavy to curly in your hair. maybe one day your son will grow his long too!
Thanks for sharing, both the kid and your hair have grown a lot ;)
Awww... Nice locks:-))) My husband has similar hair, but his curls are not so tight and his colour is dark brown (see the photo))
I admire all the guys who grow their hair and take proper care of their locks. Most of my male friends are longhairs))
WOW! Your hair is amazing! That looks great the way it starts off wavy and then has sort of ringlets at the bottom. I've been growing my hair out for almost 8 months now and it is quite like yours, wavy at the top, and ringlets near the bottom. However, mines in the awkward stage and is really sticking out like wings, but hopefully in about a year or so it will look like that. Congratulations!
Who wouldn't be chuffed! Excellent photos. I have to say your hair is super awesome! I really like the way it gradually becomes curlier as you look further down your hair. It's really unique.
Keep it growing!
Take care,
Neil
