I've been posting here for long enough, but I haven't added any pics up to now, so here goes.
This is what I looked like four years ago, before I'd even thought about growing my hair again.
And now....
beachbum, My thoughts exactly!

Thanks.
Wow that's an amazing difference in 4 years. You've certainly a got a head of amazing looking hair and looks in great condition and in good condition. Keep it growing and such an inspiration as well.
Cheers,
John.B
Thanks, mate.
I didn't actually start growing it till around Easter the following year, so it's just over three and a half years' growth. I'm pretty surpried at that, as I've spent most of that time wishing it would grow faster because I thought it was coming on really slowly.
WOW, that's a hell of a change!! Looks great, and is some pretty good growth for four years.
I spent most of that time thinking it was growing really slowly too. It's good to look back and compare the old photos.
I'll have to see if I can dig out any pix from the first time I grew it. I'm sure there are some tucked away in a box somewhere.
It's often that way, because the change is very gradual and you see it day by day, where others who see you occasionally will notice the changes more. That's why it's often helpful to take comparison picks every so often, like once a month, so you can see it from an outside viewpoint.
Man, that is a handsome mane. You should post some more pics up close. Glad to see your progress and that you are sticking with it. Any thoughts on how long you plan to go?
Thanks for the compliments.
My plan for now is just to see how long it will actually grow. I see guys like Trolleypup and Absalom and think, I might like to have hair as long as theirs.
I think you could pull hair that long. Keep up with it and it will get there. As i said before, progress pictures are always great.

Wow! What a good 4 years hair growth can do for one's appearance. Your hair definately looks great and it distinguishes you from the bland herd. Thanks for posting the before/after pics as they are inspirational for those of us in the early stages of hair journeys-much appreciated.
Best,
Duncan
Thanks very much.
Good luck with your own hair journey.
Wow! What a difference. I'm probably biased, but I think you look loads better with your long hair.
Take care
Neil
Thanks very much.
I actually think my face suits short hair better, but I FEEL better with long hair, so long hair wins hands down.
Hi Viking,
Thank you for sharing your photos, and waht a fabulous transformation in 4 years of growing!
Keep it growing,
David
Thanks very much.
It does make quite a differenc, doesn't it?
I'm meeting some friends I haven't seen in about five years in twelve days' time. I wonder what they'll make of it.
Looks spectacular! Great mane. Thanks for sharing the photo :)
Cheers,
Hegg
Thanks for the compliments.
Awesome transformation after 4 years of growth! Let it grow and keep it long.

Thanks, mate.
I plan to.
So that's what you look like.
Freaking awesome transformation! In the first pic you look like a Jarhead! LOL.
What was the catalyst that initiated this amazing change?
How did your friends and family respond to it?
It was much easier just to run clippers over it in those days. I must admit I like that look, but I prefer the long hair.
I grew my hair out in my early 20s to about shoulder blade length but got it all chopped off when I started looking for another job. I really missed it since then, but never got round to growing it again until I got a chance to set up my own business. That first pic was taken about six weeks later. I didn't actually decide to start growing it till the following Easter, by which time it was winter length, maybe an inch longer.
Because I'd grown it long before, it was a lot easier this time. I got plenty of stick from my dad the first time, but now, he's OK with it. Friends used to make comments and ask when I was planning to get it cut, but now, the girls love it and some of the guys are thinking of growing theirs.
Look much better now. Thanks for posting the pic it's always nice to put a face with a name makes things more real.
Take Care
Kevin
Thanks.
I've been meaning to post pics for ages, but I just never got round to it.
Your hair is gorgeous, Viking. Thanks for sharing an image of your great mane.
Your mane should get even longer if you should decide to let it grow without any trims. It can take 6 or 7 years to max out to full length.
Best wishes.
Scott
Thanks very much. I aspire to reaching your length, terminal permitting, but we'll have to see how that fits in with sports. I've nearly blacked my eyes quite a few times over the last couple of years because I turned my head too quickly and whacked myself with the plait.
My hair hasn't seen scissors apart from the occasional S&D since June/July 2005 and I don't have any plans to do any trimming for now - apart from the fluffy bits behind my ears.
Hi Viking
Hey, thanks for finally posting a pic of your fabulous mane:)Your hair looks really cool and a bit on the wild side I might add.Sounds like you have a great goal in mind to just let your hair grow uninterrupted. That's certainly the best way to get it long the fastest.Anyway hope you are planning to have a great Thanksgiving beast...I mean feast today!LOL.Take care my friend and post more pics when you get the chance now that you've broken the ice.Cheers
Mark
Thanks for the compliments. I'd love to give Absalom a run for his money, but we'll have to wait and see about that. Happy Thanksgiving and all the best.
Looks great! Now I know why you chose the name Viking. ;-)
