First off I just want to say that you guys made me feel a ton more confident that I might be able to recover from my very worrisome hair thinning and I'm extremely grateful for it. To business then! I just wanted to know about any vitamins you guys might take. I just picked up a "men's daily" multivitamin and again, just wanted to know what the vets would say about vitamins to keep my mane healthy on my new "try to keep my hair" regimen. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks gentlemen, I look forward to the response.
Luke, I don't take any vitamin supplements but try to get all those I need by eating a healthy diet. I believe vitamin E is good for your hair as well as skin.

Same here. A balanced diet with plenty of white meat and fish and lots of veggies of as many types as possible is a good way to get your vitamins and minerals. The only additional thing I take is cod liver oil, but that's for dodgy knees after years of competitive badminton and dance. If your diet meets your nutritional requirements, you don't need supplements.
I take "Maxi-Hair" vitamin.
Lots of good stuff in there, IMO.
Here are 90 for $10.00

You might find it cheaper elsewhere.
I also take MSM.
Very cheap and studies have shown MSM can make one's hair stronger and thicker in diameter. Google it, if interested.
I've been taking these for over two years and my hair has never looked better.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Thanks man, Happy Thanksgiving to all as well!
I don't know what is in the Maxi-Hair vitamin but that's over ten cents per pill. I've looked at non-Rx hair pills and the ones I have seen seem to be multivitamins with a generous dose of Biotin. You might try looking at buying a bottle of biotin pills and multivitamins separately and see if that's cheaper.
MSM and biotin work well for me. You may want to give them a try.

I use the following on an almost daily basis:
300mg Biotin
1000mg Kelp
Hair/Skin/Nails capsule
Flaxseed Oil,
Silica capsule,
One Large Spoonful of Brewer's Yeast mixed in a glass of water and swigged down.
I take cod liver oil for my knee joints does that help!
I take GNC UltranourishHair vitamins.
I'm a "lurker" who also is a doctor (M.D.) I have reviewed the >500 research studies published in the medical literature on the subject, spanning several decades. To date, no scientist has ever been able to show that taking vitamin supplements, biotin, herbal preparations, elixirs, minerals, or similar products has any effect on hair growth or hair quality among otherwise healthy people with balanced diets. If you are concerned you may not have a healthy diet, then buy the cheapest daily multivitamin you can find. Otherwise, save your money, because it'll all just come out in your urine.
