Hello all,
I had some thoughts about my/our long hair and the growing of them. In a perfect head (cross fingers) new hair will grow but that new hair will remain uncuted until they reach the length of our total hair length. And I was wondering about this...we are glad of course seeing new hair growing, but how healthy (or not) is for that new hair to remain uncutted for aaaall these years?

Genetics, healthy diet, and good hair care routine are more
important that cutting. some never cut their hair and it's just fine while others trim often and still have issues. Our hair will never all be the same length Bill Choissers "On being a longhair" talks about this and other things.
Check it out. http://www.choisser.com/longhair/
Specifically the lifespan of hair.

Good point, made me think a bit about it.
I came up with a theory, it doesn't count for all lenghts but it made some sense to me.
The oldest part of hair is the most damaged and that is the only hair that needs a trim. The new hairs only need a trim when they are old and damaged enough.
To give an example, your keep hair at a lenght of 3 years, the new hair only have to be cut when they are 3 years old and as long as your other hairs.
Yeap, but what's happening if you are trying to grow your hair longer? :-)
The new hair will have to "travel" much longer until they get a haircut...that's what bothers me.
And...I am thinking now -speaking only in hair quality issue- that the hair of a short-hair guy, would be better than that of a guy whos hair is 1 meter long.
For sure hair quality differs from one man to another, but let's compare here two guys (a short-haired and a very long-haired) with the average quality of hair.
