Sorry guys... I did the unthinkable in the middle of September.. I won't burden you with the gory details. I do regret it on most days... I hope everyone is well..
Tristan
Hey Tristan...withholding gory details appreciated. You'll be back... Hope you had a good weekend. And hope all is well in your world too.
Cheers,
Max
Hey Tristan,
I think Max said it beautifully; but, being the long-winded longhair that I tend to be (lol), I'll also add in a few other comments as well...
First and foremost, I hope you never feel "judged" by the length of your hair here (or the thickness or the density or the color of it, etc., etc., etc....), --- any more than people should ever be judged by the color of their skin!!! It's your hair, your life, and your choice to decide however you want to live your life in the future, --- regardless of how FURIOUS i am right now that you cut off such a great-looking mane as yours was (semi-LOL)!!!!!!!!
The important thing to know is: all is not lost, in that life is all about learning lessons, more than anything else. If you wish to grow your mane back, you'll have tons of support all over again here, --- and, even if you don't... deep-down, everyone instinctively knows that it's "the content of one's character" (to burrow from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s famous speech), NOT one's outward appearance, that in the long run will leave the most lasting impression about you!!
Having said all of the above, though, please feel free to also read what I said in my reply to St. Camilus' in his thread below yours, entitled, "Curtain Call"... Hopefully something that I said maybe either there or here I hope you might find helpful...
Also, several weeks ago you posted here with an nice update (can't remember exactly when; but, definitely before your Sept. haircut); but, as is the case with me recently, I didn't see it in-time to reply until WAAAY late... I hope you'll forgive me, --- it's just that my new job has changed my available amount of free time and access to computors, as well as caused other changes in my life (mostly good, though).
Stay well, stay strong, and stay being the awesome person that I know you are on the inside. I hope, for my own selfish reasons, that you grow your long hair back again; but, if you don't... I still think you're an awesome guy (but just a little, "misguided" for cutting off that amazing mane of yours - lol)!!
Sincerely,
Ken in San Francisco
Hi Ken..
I can't believe I did it either... I had a few weeks of bad hair and I just got lazy.. no excuse to ruin 25 months of progress though..
Thanks so much for your words of encouragement. I agree with you, the inside counts the most. I'd like to stay a member of the board if possible..
Talk to you soon.
Tristan
Sorry to hear this, hope you will grow it back.
Hi Tristan, thats a real shame, but its your choice, and we value you as a member of this community, so please drop by and say hi.
Take care, Dave
Thanks Dave..
Your hair looks awesome dude..
Talk to you soon..
Tristan
Hey Tristan,
Oh it's getting a little sad seeing a trend starting here as you being a well known user and awesome longhair it is a shock. However you gotta do whats right for yourself and maybe the longhair wasn't for you after all.Only you know the answer to that question. As great as it is to have longhair it does require a certain amount of dedication to keep it maintained and there are some who want it but hate the work involved to keep it nice.Short hair obviously is maintainance free for the most part.
Anyway you are a great guy and Ken put it so beautifully in his reply to you.So don't be a stranger and drop in when you want as you do have your experience of having longhair to offer. Also it would be cool to hear what you are up to as well.Be well my friend and do keep the faith!

Thanks Mark for your support..
I really wish I had a great explanation, but I don't.. it felt right... but it wasn't..
I plan on being a member, unless they kick me off here. I'm contemplating another go at the hair.. it just seems like an uphill battle all over again..
Take care and talk to you soon..
Tristan
If you're contemplating it, I'd say do it. (Of course, like Ken, I'm being selfish, but try not to think about that.) I mean, all you have to do is...nothing...!
Besides, it looks like you didn't cut it all off, and there are guys here with shorter hair than that--but it's the goal they're aiming at that's ultimately important in this regard. You'll probably be close to where you want to be more quickly than you might imagine. And it's better to make your mistakes earlier than later (like yours truly did)...
So hang in there (and around here!), if only for the sake of the satisfaction you'll feel in putting up another photo you can be proud of! Best of luck! :-)

But life is long and you have ample opportunity to grow it again. And in the end, if you find happiness in your decision, then I'll support you. If you regrow it, I'll support you as well.
You'll just have to start plotting different surprises from now on. ;-)

Oh well boyo. At least you can always start regrowing over again if you like. I always thought your hair was really cool Tristan.
Take care
Neil
Ultimately, it's about what YOU want, minus social constraints, peer pressure, internet pressure, all that. Including pressure from us here.
If you feel it was a mistake, you'll grow it back and move onward and upward (eh, downward, that is). If you really do like your hair short, that's good too, if that's what you really want- if you've tried it different and know from experience what you prefer, that is best, and is being more adventurous than lots of folks, in many things in life.
And we won't run you off for any "mstakes," so don't feel afraid to post if your hair is shorter.
