Hello, So I've been looking on amazon.com and on the web in general at the reviews for the above named products. They are daily vitamin pills specifically deigned to increase hair growth. About 90% of the reviews I have read claim it works. People have been saying they have been getting up to an inch and a half of hair growth a month. The standard is half an inch a month, and that the thin fine short hairs around the hairline have started growing as thick full hairs.
Now I've heard its not possible to grow that much hair a month, though apparently if your a young women then your the exception, due to hormone levels or some such.
Has anyone here used them and can vouch for the effectiveness of the products? Or ineffectiveness? Or even if you haven't does it sound like baloney to you?
The ingredient levels are in the mega dose levels and way above the recommended daily intake levels. Surely that can' be safe long term?
I'm a doctor (M.D.) who frequents this site from time to time. I have reviewed the >500 research studies published in the medical literature on the subject, spanning several decades. To date, no scientist has ever been able to show that taking vitamin supplements, biotin, herbal preparations, elixirs, minerals, or similar products has any effect on hair growth or hair quality among otherwise healthy people with balanced diets. If you are concerned you may not have a healthy diet, then buy the cheapest daily multivitamin you can find. Otherwise, save your money, because it'll all just come out in your urine.
Dont believe reviews. You either test things yourself, or take it with a grain of salt.
Several recent studies have also shown that taking some vitamins as supplements increases the death rate. It turns out that vitamins may also nourish invaders like cancer cells. Food is still the best way to get your vitamins and minerals.
"Note: If we combined the two steps together (into one tablet) the tablets would be too large for the average person to swallow."
That comes from an evaluation of Hairtopia from HairBoutique.com. When you can't even swallow all of the vitamins at once, you know its WAY too much. Don't take these, it will not be safe in the long run.
Sounds even worse.
What people will fall for and DO so often while others get rich on the "claims." By the time the guy spends all his money on these phoney scam products he will be lucky enough if he even has enough money left for a Baloney SandWITCH!
It's all Baloney.
In all my travels and all the people who have posted here we have yet to meet someone who said "hey it really worked"
It's like the commercials for the "work at home" websites where they say, "I made $250,000 last year working part time" I never met anyone who actually does that.
The old snake oil salesman is alive and well.

I began taking both Viviscal and GNC UltraNourishHair during my growing process. The daily fallout decreased and my growth increased. I reached waistlength in 3.5 years.
Some here who say it doesn't have an effect never tried it themselves. Like one poster mentioned....try it for yourself. See if you notice a difference.
I got over an inch growth each month.
Your mileage may vary ;-)
