Ever had one of those days when even the term, "Bad Hair Day" is grossly insufficient for an accurate enough description?
Back in Y2K, on the first day of summer, I had an extremely bad one of those days, --- and impulsively decided to cut off my waist-length hair that day....
It is now 8 and 1/2 years later, --- to the month, at least --- and now I'm celebrating hair that's even longer than I had back in late '99 and early 2000!!! The only problem is: I still occasionally wake up in the morning, thinking, "Yuck! I look totally like HELL today!!" Then I realize one important thought that gives me great comfort, reminding me that things could indeed be a whole lot worse: I could look like hell, AND.... my hair could also be SHORT (lol)!!!!
Just a little nugget to chew on to hopefully cheer up your day....

In my experience the only way to ensure that your hair absolutely cannot contribute to an "I look like HELL today!" moment is to cut it to buzz-cut length or less. If it has any length at all, even just an inch or so, it can stick out in strange directions or otherwise misbehave. For that matter, many of the "I slept on my hair wrong" issues I've found to be easier to deal with, since I can tame most of them by simply tying my hair back. Can't do that when it's too short to tie. And since I'm not terribly fond of the buzz-cut effect, I'll happily put up with the occasional nuisance to enjoy the many pleasures of having long hair.
Still a great shot, Ken !!
I have always thought we should start a "Bad Hair Day" thread where we all contribute a photo of reality ! Lets face it, most of our updates are taken after "a bit" of preening ! HA!
Thanks for Sharing
Walter
Sorry, Walter, but my first thought upon finding myself in a Bad Hair Day is NOT "Hey, why don't I record this moment for posterity??? [grin]
lol that is so true.
Start one. I'll post my worst.
Hey Ken, boy was your post timely!!! I am having one of those days...from the minute I got up and now...I feel like my hair is stringy and lifeless...I have no idea why this happens...And I get that fleeting thought to...well you know...
Your post REALLY helped me out and I send you a million thanks.
Cheers,
Max
What?!!! Hey, put those scissors down!
You may think this strange but your hair type is my ideal hair. I've always admired straight hair but everyone I know with straight hair wants hair like mine, whatever. I even used to try straighteners and ironing when I was a teen.
Max, back away from the clippers! You have really cool hair. Don't go messing with it!!!
never cut,
Paul
PS I didn't really trim my hair in that post, "Cut my hair". It was all just a joke. I did do a search and destroy of about 30 hairs with splits about 2 weeks ago.
Many thanks Paul...appreciate your input...and I did put those scissors down...well I never really picked them up, but the thought did enter my mind though. It's true, I wish my hair was like yours, like you said we always want what our genetics does not provide...oh well.
I will not cut...today seems to be a better day. Hope you have a great weekend and thanks again.
Cheers,
Max
Hey Paul,
PS I did get a chance to use a "get your hair cut" response last night when a friend of mine said, "Get a haircut!" My response was, "Get a facelift!" It was very effective...Ha
Cheers,
Max
Hey Max....DON'T DO IT! Listen to what Dave wrote as he is right on.We all have days when our hair doesn't want to cooperate but I guess on them days that's when your baseball cap comes in handy. When you take it off later I bet your hair got the message and will look awesome after being in lockup for a few hours:)LOL.Keep the faith my friend!Cheers
Mark
Hey Mark...I thank you for your encouraging words...yeah, don't know what happened yesterday but I must admit that the "s" word crept into my mind...but I resisted. Thanks again.
Cheers,
Max
Ken,
If my hair was that long, I could definitely deal with a few "looking like hell" days. You got a grrrrrrrrreat headda hair!
Take care and keep it growin'!
Brett
Growing My Hair Out...Again! Progress Pics
LOL, my hair always looks like that Ken!
Cheers Dave
Hey Dave, if I had bad hair days like you...well then I would be VERY HAPPY INDEED! As I said to Paul below...many of us want a hair type that we don't have to begin with...such is the life of some lonhairs.
Hope you have a great weekend Dave.

Thanks Max, have a great weekend also.

Hi Ken,
Hey, we all have days like that but it could be the weather conditions of the day that may be responsible.Regardless, I'd rather have unruly longhair any day than some lousy short style that looks like hell everyday! No offense to our short haired friends as I'm referring to myself with that comment.LOL.Cheers
Mark in New Joisey!
Ken, I'll go with long and looks like hell any day!
Great progress with your beautiful silver blond locks!
peace, jonalbear
Problem here is that I'm not absolutely sure I can blame it on the hair!
I'll second that. If there's anything I'm gonna blame for ruining my good looks, it ain't my hair, lol
Lol great picture, sometimes longhair can look bad but it's still better than short hair like you say.
You are right, do not do what I did, as you did before. Cut it all off from a mere irrational impulse. I noticed that though you may think it looks like crap, it really doesn't and people think it still looks great. At least it was like that for me, it was all in my mind.
