Hello there again. Right well i've followed your advice from last time and have let the straightners gather dust on the shelf and the heat protection spray remain unused. This would be the start of month 3 without using them and my hairs roughly still the same (lil longer, still straight but new growing ends seem to be going curlyish at the back :) Im seriously considring cutting my fringe back alot (perhaps to my eyebrows) as i think its messed up and if you look at it closly its just growing thinnner and thinner but i'm not sure ill see what you think though you will most likely need to zoom in on the photo to notce the ends :) If someone could point me to some great male headbands it would be much appreciated as im not too keen on ponytails as its always seems to be too tight to hold in place for ages. Thanks, and ill upload more pictures tommorow when i have them :)
Ahh and for reference heres my original post from sept :D

Thanks for the help everyone,

Luke,
Your hair looks great. Was the texture drastically different before you started using the straightener?
Looking forward to the post-straightening pics.
Take care and keep it growin'!

Growing My Hair Out...Again! Progress Pics
Hi Luke
Having had a look I think your doing well and although your not thrilled with the fringe I would leave it alone for now, but that's your personal preference.
Glad you put the straightener on the shelf. Straightening once in a great while isn't the end of the world but does increase the risk of drying and or damage issues.
One of the hardest parts of being a longhair is learning to love what you have the way it is naturally. We all want our hair to be different in one way or another thus we experiment and do things to it that sometimes makes it worse.
We've had a spurt of posts recently of, "oh I chopped off my hair and regret it and am growing it back". To be honest we roll our eyes as we type pleasant supportive comments, it just gets old.
Hope it all goes well and whatever you do your happy with it in the end.
Kevin
Hey, your hair looks great!!! I use a medium sized band on my hair for a tail, not the thin ones, they are harder to get out and you have to have them tighter, the ones that are a bit thicker I only have to wind 3 times which holds it but are not loose and come off easily with out not pulling my hair. Agin, your hair looks great! keep it up! take care!
Very much so, the image link below demonostrates just how curley my hair went at its peak (roughly december 2007) i am the one wearing the hood. Unfortuantly now it seems from the months i used to straighten it's "paralysed" my hair into thinking it's straight so its been straight for a long time now without the use of anything but drying it in the wind (Will it ever regain it's old style?). I've found that tucking my fringe behind my ears dosnt work if theres the slightest breeze as it just comes out again, all i really want is it out of my face, and ill be happy :) When i used to straighten my hair i could not wash it for 2 days and it would be fine, now waking up on the morning of the second day i have quite alot of grease which is a shame as it used to be fine on a wash every two days, but now i have to do it everyday.
Thanks for the replies so far,
Luke :)
Hey Luke,I think your hair looks awesome and really natural, both with and without the curls,as both styles fit you very well.I have also used straighteners through my hair journey, but that was quite sometime ago,as they leave your hair very dry and coarse if not managed correctly.just grow it naturally from now and see how it turns out, which I think will be a great success.Take care,Luke, and good luck on further growing!
BTW:Loved you hair's color ;)
Good you put the straighteners down, you hair will love you for that. From what I can see from the picture your hair looks good, no need to trim it.
looks damn good dude if you ask me! i dont see any apparent damage i would let it grow a few more months then get a slight dusting trim to cut off dead ends but other than that id say your fine keep it growing for sure!
Luke, Looks great dude!
peace, jonalbear
Hi Luke, your hair is looking superb, and in very good condition. Whatever you are ding now seems to be working, keep it up!
cheers Dave
Your hair looks great, and will continue to look better the less you use a straightener. While the usage of one is okay once in a great while, regular use is, of course, very detrimental. Anyways, hope all is well. Keep it growing, Luke. =)

Hey Look your hair actually looks great. I see that u blatently straighten it and it's good that you stopped. It doesn't at all look like ur losin your hair, it looks "fine" and well conditioned...not "thin" or "thinning." Though I was in the same boat as you.
I had REALLY thick hair and it has definately thinned out a bit but propecia is helping me maintain it. The temples receeded a bit and now i have a widow's peak but no crown loss, so it doesnt really look like im losin it. your's looks great though, I wouldnt be concerned (regarding your previous post about hair loss).

Hi Luke. Your hair looks fine, and good job on staying away from straighteners in the last three months. I suggest you wait before cutting your hair to see what happens.
Regardless
Hey, Luke. Your hair looks really great. I wish mine was half-way straight, but we must accept what we get. Keep it growin' and flowin'.
