Hey Guys:
I'm at the 1 year and 7 month stage with my hair and I think I'm ready for a style. I found out that trying to mimic a celebrities hairstyle is not a good idea early on. It just makes you prolong the awkward stage and keep going for "shaping cuts". I orginally wanted Scott Stapp's hair from the band Creed. My hair just won't do it, b/c it's too thick and wavy. So now I know I want Antonio Banderas's hair from the movie Desperado. I know it's shoulder length; which mine is also. But when I look at the front of his hair it looks different. So I made my friend watch Desperado and his says the front of his hair is layered. Now I know I've been told by you guys not to layer long hair. I've also been told by my current stylist that layering is not a good idea. So I'm thinking I should just cut my bangs at my chin and let the rest lay on my shoulders. I hope you guys can help especially any stylists. Thanks in advance.

From that picture, I would just leave it like that! Don't try to mimic another person, it will never work. Your hair is unique to you and you only. You may be able to come close to somebody else's style, but you won't be able to make it exact...so don't try. Instead of trying to fight your hair's natural tendancies, just accenuate them!

Hey Steve:
The pic isn't of me it's of Antonio Banderas and that's what I want my hair to look like. I wish the compliment obtained to my hair now though, hehehe

How in the world can someone give you advice about your hair without a picture? Antonio looks great in that pic, but if you don't have a similar texture to your hair, I don't think you will ever get it to look like his. The cut is important, but hairstyles are basically all about texture!
