Hi everybody. I used to be on this site regularly a few years back. I went by the names Blonde or Ex Blonde I think. Anyways I've grown my hair a lot since then and it's about to a little below my shoulders now.
I was wondering what the best way is to go about dealing with tangles? I go nuts trying to comb all the tangles in my hair out after washing it and I was wondering if anyone knew the best and painless way to get the tangles out. If perhaps there is a simpler method to go about it I guess is what I'm asking.
Thanks
Yes, I remember you, Blonde / Ex-Blonde!
Here's two simple rules that work very well for me in getting out tangles:
1) Always use LOTS of conditioner after you shampoo (I even "tripple condition" sometimes, --- the 1st time just using my fingers to start detangling while the water is rinsing clean; the 2nd time, which uses the heaviest amount of conditioner, detangling with a comb; and, the 3rd time, just applying a little bit of leave-in conditioner into the ends and lower portion of my mane
2) Always start combing & detangling at the ENDS, FIRST... Then gradually move your way up to get the rest of your way!
I hope the abov e comments help!

I like to use Infusium 23.
I separate the tangle areas and gently comb them out starting at the ends.

My hair is way too fine to comb or brush without snapping half of it off. Even finger detangling is too much. I pat it dry with a towel and whip it up and down to dry it. I usually have to gently lift it away from my scalp with my fingers when I first go head down. I whip it up and down a few times as it's drying. By the time it's dry, it's tangle free. It hasn't been combed in several years and it hasn't turned into dreadlocks yet. Just make sure that you head bang from your hips, not your neck.
Thanks for your advice everyone. I don't want to cut my hair short ever again and I definitely wanted to know better ways to deal with the pesky tangles.
Again, thanks everyone, Happy Holidays!
