Hey Guys!
Sorry for being so sporadic on the board. I’m working one job 30-40 hours/week overnight and then I’m still doing personal training on the side (and business is actually picking up, surprisingly). Needless to say between work and other life obligations I’m a little bit swamped, though realistically I DO have time to comment more often. I’m prone to being distracted and lazy too. ;-)
In case anyone is interested, Target seems to be longhair friendly. Two of the overnight guys have long hair (one down to his waist), and one of the dayside leads has long dreads.
As for hair, mine is still slowly adding length, though I did take off about a quarter to half inch a few months ago. It was just getting too tangled at the ends too often, and it was a good chance to experiment with self-trimming. Waves still give the ends a somewhat scruffy look, but I like it. Now it’s becoming prone to tangles all over, but that’s just the winter dryness taking its toll. Conditioner, conditioner, conditioner! And oiling!
I’m using a halftail braid more often than just a regular halftail. I snag less hair in the binder by making the braid first, and I like the look. It is particularly useful when I’m working in the dairy cooler at work since the hair stays out of my face and I can tuck the rest into my jacket for warmth.
And last but not least, a very cranky looking longhair!

Interestingly enough, I actually find getting a halftail braid to look nice and straight is easier than doing so with a regular braid. Ever noticed the same thing?

Thanks! I did do the braid myself, though it took some practice. Interestingly enough, I find it easier to get a straight braid with a halftail than with all of my hair.

Your hair looks amazing, and yes, target is fairly friendly tothose with long hair, tattoos, and piercings. My friend works there, and is currently growing his hair out. ^_^

Hi Mouse. You have nice looking waves in your hair, and so do your cats. I have a brown tabby cat, by the way. I would stay away from the trims till your hair is a little past your desired length. I am still not ready to braid my hair.

No worries, Matthew, trims won't be a regular part of my life. I just took a little off to reduce snagging at the ends (worked well), and with over two years of growth that little bit didn't make any real difference in length.

Congrats on your personal business upswing too. I was in Target the other day here, and I did notice a guy with dreads working there. It didn't register until I read your post. I guess they are friendly to long hair. Target's really a much cleaner and better kept store than the one that starts with a W.

Yeah, I am working too much lately and not playing enough, but that's the nature of the beast at a retail job around the holidays, and personal training will pick up even more in January (all those resolutions).
