I have finally hit two years since I started growing out my hair. It is also 10 months after that trim I did not want. By the way, no one complained about my hair lately, and that is some good news.

You probably have noticed the snow in the background. Even though Seattle has a cool climate, we get very little snow. It is only like once every winter or two that we have a winter wonderland. On the plus side, the snow fell just in time for my latest update. It had been very cold in Seattle the last few days. The first batch of snow (which was not that much) fell on Saturday night, followed by mostly sunny but below-freezing days. Then it warmed up enough for rain to fall and melt most of the snow from the first batch. Then this morning, the snow came back and it continued to snow lightly for most of the day. Once the snow melts, I would start thinking of hot summer days again.
My next update (26 months) will be in February, and the photos there will be taken in Maui, Hawaii.
Merry Christmas,
Matthew aka Regardless
You probably noticed that I accidentally uploaded the same photo three times when I meant to upload two more different photos. These are the two photos I overlooked.

Congrats on the ever-lengthening tail, but I'm very partial to the first photo with your hair loose. Those curls are just outstanding and you look downright handsome with the shoulder-length locks. Great work!
Mouse
Thanks Mouse. Curls in the hair adds character to one's hair. And the snow makes a great background to my pictures.
Regardless
Most definitely. Have you considered updating your avatar picture with this photo?

Looking good. How much more length are you going for?
I am going for mid-back.
Regardless
I must say, you have very nice wavy hair. it looks much more "complete" now than your avatar.
Thanks. I agree. My avatar appears a bit iffy.
Regardless
hair looks awesome Matt were about the same length now def keep it growing for sure
I will, Mark. I agree.
Regardless
I prefere the 80 degree December day we had today in Louisiana.

We usually have damp, chilly, overcast weather with temperature in the 40's and 50's in the winter. It rarely snows in Seattle. Try going to Montana or Alaska.
Regardless
Your mane looks great. I really like the style and it appears to be in really good condition. Keep growin' and have a great holiday!!!
Karsten
Thanks Karsten. I will keep on growing.
Regardless
Hi Matthew, your hair's looking Great man. Like you I've noticed the wise cracks about growin the hair out have all but stopped.
Stay in the "NO SCISSOR ZONE!"
Merry Christmas to you & your family.
Frank
Thanks, I will. Merry Christmas to you and your family too.
Regardless
Hi Matthew,Great update!
Hey you gotta love pics of longhair with ice crystals as highlights:)Very nice and you are making fantastic progress.I'm sure you'd rather be in Hawaii for you next update instead of freezing in a snowstorm.Actually we are supposed to get some snow tomorrow. Not at all looking forward to that.LOL.Anyway I found two of your pics I liked in particular.Merry Christmas my friend as its always nice to hear from you:)
Mark
Thanks for the friendly statement, Mark. Looks like you are not a snow person. I do like the snow, but it is so temporary in Seattle, and soon, we are going to go back to having the usual chilly, damp, rainy Seattle weather.
Regardless
Hi Regardless,
I usually don't comment on your updates but this one seemed special to me. Your hair is really looking long now, and I can tell that in another year it'll look even more awesome. Don't cut it!
Peter
Thanks Peter. I can't wait what I will look like with my three year update. Oh yeah, the snow adds a nice background to my update.
Regardless
Your hair is in great shape,Matt,I especially like the way it looks in the first pic!Ponytail looks great too, though a full picture would be better...
I live in a very hot country, and I dream of going somewhere very cold, like Seattle.Guess we can't have everything we want, right?=P
Anyways, take care man,and enjoy the snow for me!=D
Take care.
Thanks for the statement. Seattle is not that cold as you may think. It rarely snows in Seattle anyway. If you want the cold, try going to Alaska.
Regardless
I am seriously thinking of moving to Alaska and getting arrested there!I saw in the discovery channel a few days ago a program that showed how life in Alaska's prison was,and it's actually pretty damn good!Prisoners get to watch TV,attend classes, eat good food, socialize with other prisoners, lol.Anyways,If I'm to be a failure for life,I'm definetelly moving there, that or shaving my head and living a monastery with monks and eating rice everyday XD.
Even with all those amenities, going to prison is no fun. No matter what you do, please do not cut your hair.
Regardless
Excellent update Regardless. You've provided more than enough photos showing your great progress considering you cut it earlier this year. I'm glad that you decided to really grow it long since your cut, I hope you grow it even longer. Thanks for sharing.
-Phil
Thanks Phil. You should do the same thing. I am growing it out to mid-back.
Regardless
Great update and your hair looks wonderfully healthy...especially in the snow and wind. (remarkably, we also had snow here in the desert the past couple of days...too kool!!)
Hope the next update will have volcano in the background...HA!
Thanks for Sharing
Walter
Thanks Walter. I have checked Las Vegas, and they got quite a bit of snow that otherwise rarely get even a flurry.
Regardless
Beautiful progress Matthew!
Great looking wavy/curly hair.
Congrats on reaching two years of almost-unfettered growth.
With that added "bonus" of snow in Seattle, I am sure you are looking very forward to your next update in Maui!
Keep on growing,
- Oren
Thanks Oren. If it did snow all the time, it would not be as special.
Regardless
Hey Matthew...that is a very nice update. Your hair is looking quite good...love all those waves! Congrats on your achievement! Hope your weather gets warmer. I'm in northern CA about 70 miles north of SFO and it's been very cold here too. Last night it was in the low 20's...brrr
Cheers,
Max
Thanks Max. I can't wait for year three. Nevertheless, it had been a bit colder than the low 20's in Seattle. It went down into the high teens. And even though the sun was out the last few days, it was still below freezing during the day (average high is 45 degrees at this time of the year).
Regardless
Congratulations Matthew, you are a longhair! Excellent job. The snow give your pictures an interesting effect.
Looking forward to your next update from Maui, where that snow will be a distance memory.
Bruce
Thanks Bruce. I am looking forward to the warmer weather at Maui.
------------------------------
Your hair looks great, Matthew. Slowly but surely it will tame down with added length. In another year it will be much easier to deal with, and with a lot less frizzing.
I see you got a lot of snow in the Seattle area. We got some snow here near San Francisco but only above 1500' of elevation. I am a bit of a weather freak. I check the doppler radar to find out where it is least likely to rain. I then put my bike in the back of my car and drive there. I am willing to drive as far as 150 miles from home (300 miles round trip) to get that dry ride.
BTW, long hair is a good insulator and will help keep you warm this winter. Lucky you, Maui should be wonderful in February.
Also thanks for adding me to your friends list.
Scott
Thanks Scott. Here in Seattle, it does not rain heavy that much. We usually get fine, misty rain, which is easy to deal with. Having long hair keeps my head warm during the cold days of winter. I can't wait to see what I will look like in another year.
Regardless
Aye Regardless, Lookin' good thar lad!
peace, jonalbear
Thanks jonalbear.
Regardless
Wow, Matthew! I'm very impressed. =) Congratulations on making the two-year mark. Stay warm and have a merry Christmas!
-James
I will stay warm and I will have a merry Christmas. It should start warming up to normal levels (which is like the 40's) after the holidays are over. It rarely snows in Seattle anyway.
Regardless
YAY FOR SHOULDERLENGTH.
It looks a lot better now that you've hit shoulder, or seem to. Hopefully it'll continue to grow far longer. ^_^ Goodluck, and it looks nice!
Thanks Glasseyes. I can't wait to achieve mid-back.
Regardless
Wow Regardless.......2 years and does your long hair really look fantastic! So glad you didn't cave-in to your Dad and what HE wanted you to do.
You are now advanced in length enough where people no longer make fun of your hair, in fact, you may suddenly find that you will be hearing compliments.
Good Job! :-)
Justin~
Yes, in deed, I had heard some completes from my mom's co-workers when we went to their dinner party a week ago. The further I make it, the more optimistic I become.
Regardless
Awesome, Regardless. It is really coming along. It hangs well and full. (No Innuendo intended). You are looking good.
Cheers!
Shawn (Mr.Crow)
Thanks Shawn. It will only look better as the time goes on.
Regardless
Hey, Matthew. Great hair pics. I've noticed that once your hair reaches a certain length, people just give up trying to talk you into a haircut. Hawaii, huh? You lucky longhair!
Great posts. Remember, keep it growin' and flowin', even when it's snowin'.
Merry Christmas.
TLH
Funny poem, huh, but non the less, I am hearing far fewer negative comments on my hair now days.
Regardless
Hi Regardless,
Thank you for sharing your outstanding update with us, and congratulations on 2 years of growing! Your hair is thick and healthy, and be sure to keep it growing!
Keep it growing,
David
Thank David. I will.
Regardless
Great progress, you finaly have the full ponytail from what I can see.
The longhair will keep you warm this winter :)
Not yet Vincent. When I make a ponytail, my front hair still does not go in yet. My dad had cut my bangs way short during that unwanted trim back in February. But my hair does keep my head warm during the snowy days.
Regardless
Looking superb Regardless, the longer your hair gets the better it looks!!
Merry Christmas!
~ Dave
Thanks Dave. I agree.
Regardless
I'm right behind you with my own two-year update, which I'll be logging next week. You have me beat in thickness, I think mine may be longer than yours, but your true length is "hidden" by the curls, which look great on you, by the way!
Thanks Bill. I will look forward to your update. With the statement, I assume you have straight hair.
Regardless
I swear my hair will look EXACTLY like yours when it gets down there!
Thanks Dex. By the way, I would like to see a picture of you and your hair.
Regardless
There we go...hat head and all.
But you get the idea.
Your hair has nice curls too. Thanks again.
Regardless
Thank you!
What a nice update and look at all that snow.
Your hair looks great
keep growing.
Kevin
Thanks Kevin. By the way, snow rarely occur where I live.
Regardless
Oh we get snow every year where I live. It usually starts around early December sometimes late November and goes until March. We usually get around 45 inches on average for the season, last year we got 100 inches and we're at 30 so far this season. We might break records this winter.
Kevin
Where I live, we only get like 2 inches of snow per year and some winters went by without any. The mountains surrounding Seattle get far more.
Regardless
Hey, Regardless.
Well, what can I say? Your hair looks damn good. You've made some spectacular progress since you started posting here. Congrats on the hair.
Thanks. Let's look for another year of growth.
Regardless
Your hair look CooL bro ! and its look like mine ! keep it long !
Thanks Argale. It would be nice if I can see a picture of you.
