I've made it through what I'm thinking is two years of growth since starting in late Dec 06. My last recorded haircut was 24 Dec 06 (I used to keep records to ensure I would get a haircut approx. every two weeks). Hence, I'm going by Xmas Eve 2006 as my more or less "official" start.
I'm a tad disappointed so far at how thin my hair has grown out, but length-wise I'm satisfied. I'm at the length at which I once planned to stop, but since then I've decided to "go for it" and shoot for terminal length, whatever it may be. I think I'm going to wind up with the same style (and length, I hope) as Hairball.

Also, I think I'm going through a second "awkward stage." The hair that hangs down just behind my ears has developed a curl/wave where it reaches the collarbone. Since it's not yet past the collarbone far enough to lie straight, after I sleep on it it wants to curl upward in that dip above the collarbone. Oh, well. "This too shall pass," I tell myself.
The advice I've gotten from reading both this board and the info in "On Being a Longhair" have been inspirational and encouraged me to "stick it out" and not give in to trims. My wife gave me a needed light trim back last summer to even the ends out, which did make it look better. Terminal Length or Bust!!
I don't have a website to upload these to so I'm using the "upload it" option, may have to post twice.
Hi Bill. Your hair looks nice and it is approximately at my length (although mine is wavier). Let's hope you don't go bald.
Regardless
Your hair is looking just fine for two years. Glad you decided to keep it growing longer too. Don't worry about the thinness; the length is what gets noticed. Straight hair looks thinner anyway.

Hey, Bill. Congratulations on your 2 year mark. I wouldn't worry about it being "thin." It looks really great. I sincerely hope you continue on toward your goal of terminal length. Keep it growin' and flowin'.

Your hair looks damn good, man, and I would give anything to have thin hair like yours =D.Seems to be in really good condition too,and the beard and mustache is a great addition.Take care!
Thanks!
That's not bad for 2 years! if you are worried about thinning, you might want to look into biotin, it seems that many people get good results from it (promotes length as well).
Thanks for the tip, I'd heard that. Fortunately I'm not like my Dad, who was totally bald on top by his mid-30s.
Hey, Hi Bill!
Well for starters I'm honored that you are using me as a guideline for your own hair growth.I never considered myself as a measuring stick for others to use but I'm glad to hear that you are going for terminal length. As was already stated straight hair does appear thinner than curly or wavy hair so just be happy you can even grow longhair. At times I too wished my hair was thicker but I do like the length I achieved.Biotin is something I just began to use so I'm hoping it produces good results for me because at times I feel my hair isn't getting any longer and I want longer hair:)So keep the faith Bill and treat your hair kindly and it will respond. Thanks for coming forward and introducing yourself to the board.Longhairs are always welcome.
