Hi everyone,
Since longtime, I visited your interesting website. There are a lot of good longhair examples with a great personality. It is really hard for me to grow out my hair, I did some efforts but everytime I failed after a few months (my record is only 5 months). One of my aims for 2009 is becoming a longhair. My goal is shoulder length and more and more I get interested in midback length. My last classic haircut (short) was at the beginning of October. It is almost three months that I didn't have a haircut and I want to maintain my efforts in being a longhair. At the moment, my hair reaches my ears (a little bit over my ears). When will I have my awkward stage and what is your advice to maintain my efforts and to be part of your family? Thanks a lot for your support, merry Christmas and keep growing!
First of all, good luck in your goal. I hope you have very little or no distractions from others. I should assume that your hair is straight, well, I recon your awkward phase is not far off now (if you will have it). I should point out however that the in picture you posted, there is a model, with model hair; which is 99.9% blow-dried. What I have found out is to somehow avoid styling products as much as possible.
Thanks for your reply and advice. Great!
Hey, New Fashion. Don't shave it! You may try rinsing with vinegar and water or Listerine. It really helps my scalp!

The awkward stage starts when your hair becomes annoying to you. Due to it's look or the start of other peoples comments against it. I remember a guy that hadn't seen me for six months asked "Dude!! What's up with your hair?" I wore a hat for almost a year.It takes perseverance, desire, thick skin and most of all, staying away from anything that will cut your hair. Barbers, beauticians, scissors, "helpful friends etc.
Endeavor to persevere!!
Peace and good luck
Thanks for your kind feedback!
Welcome to the board! The awkward stage is only a state of mind. If you don't let it bother you and enjoy the process, it'll go quickly. Hair in your eyes... a reminder that you indeed have long hair. Hair in your mouth? More proof!
One more thought... listen to your heart, not anyone else!
Good luck!
