Hi all! I think its a great site you guys have here, I was looking over some topics that were about growing their hair out and thought hey why dont I start posting. I've been growing my hair out for about a year now and im not stopping anytime soon! Ive been looking at pics and I'm aiming for below shoulder blades good lengthy ponytail length (that was a mouthfull!). My hair is not naturally black, I dyed it not too long ago. I have never grown out my hair before but had always wanted to! It may come as strange, but to me long hair means things like adventure, journey, wisdom, charisma and the like.
Here is the most recent pic I have and will try to upload more soon. I often straighten my hair with a straightener because I do not like the natural curl I get. If anyone has any advice on anything, including the best shampoo and conditioner please let me know!

hey Grayson, welcome!!
you've got great hair, especially for only growing out for a year, it is looking really nice!
Keep up growing and you will reach your goal in no time!
Maybe you should take some pics of your hair while it is curly, I'm interested to see what it looks like!
Have a good day man, and good luck with your growing!
Hey bro, welcome to the forum! I've been an infrequent visitor here for about 5 years. It was great support for when I was growing out my hair and I still keep coming back for more tips and advice.
If there's one thing I could suggest (and I'm sure many others would agree) is to avoid dying your hair. It weakens the hair, and I can attest to that. Before deciding to grow out my hair, I got blonde highlights. Granted, to go lighter I think the process is more severe than to go darker, but eventually the blonde disappeared and I had semi-transparent, dried out hair at the ends, and lots of split hairs. Once that was trimmed away, I never got highlights or dyed my hair again. You may have seen the thread about me thinking about a perm... also a bad idea. It was also damage your hair.
Hey, Grayson. Great looking hair. Happy New Year, and keep it growin' and flowin'.
