I recently cut 10 years worth of hair (R.I.P) and am starting over, mainly because my hair was dried, split ended, frizzed and just plain awful. I want to do everything possible to prevent this in the future when it grows back. I took very little care of it, mostly out of ignorance and i wish to change that this time around. So i'm wondering in terms of washing, drying, and general treatment what the board recommends...don't be afraid to go into detail. thanks!
CONDITIONER. Conditioner. cOnditioner. CONDitioner. condItIoner. amd more use of Conditioner.
Click on the "Links" tab at the top of the MLHH main page. There are links to various sites that will tell you everything you ever wanted to know about hair growing and more.
Basically: wash hair as needed with a gentle shampoo, condition it well, only comb, detangle, or brush it gently so as not to snap and yank hairs, don't use any heat on it (straightners, blow dryers, etc.), keep it out of harm's way from being caught in things, don't chemically treat hair, etc. Some also recommend slight periodic trims at the ends a few times per year to keep things evened up and make for a better appearance.
Good luck regrowing, and welcome, benvenuto, bienviendo, etc.

I'm surprised after ten years of growing you haven't evolved a good hair care routine. Do you have a photo of your 10 years of growth before you cut it??
To better answer your question seeing what you had and what it looked like might help my answer.
Welcome to the board
