couldn't find my thread through the search function but i posted my problem awhile back about breaking out at the scalp while growing my hair out. anyways i've been looking at products and tried the nizoral that was recommended. i've been using it everyday and it seems to have lessened. Although i don't think i should be using it so much. plus it is for dandruff and not for oily acned scalps. what do you guys think about kiehls tea tree oil shampoo. i went to their website and it seems recommended for oily scalps? other product recs would be of great help especially cheaper ones lol. thanks in advance!
tee tree is a great choice, and kiehls is a good brand. you might also look for products with these ingredients:
aloe vera, neem (oil or powder), essential oils: bergamot, lemon, sandalwood
any of these are known for helping heal acne/skin. have you tried aubrey organics? they'd probably have something to address your problem too.

what about herbal toners? since i'm already using nizoral and it seems to be working a bit. i really hope it works. i'm close to getting it cut due to the itching and hassle.
this sounds promising ... but the ingredients on the label say methylparaben (a preservative) is the 5th ingredient! this makes me nervous. i try to avoid parabens. they can be allergic & toxic. i'd look for a paraben-free one, or one with it at least it listed much lower down (near the end) of the ingredients list.

If my memory serves me correctly, Acne is a condition that is beneath the skin. To REALLY get to it, it should be attacked from this direction. A visit to your doctor would most likely yield you the best results of all, and after that perhaps drink some tea in celebration! :-)
Yesterday i bought a new dandruff shampooo at Target made by Neutrogena called T/Sal, for 6$, 4.5 oz bottle. It doesn't mention acne as being a condition that it treats but it's main active indredient is SALICYLIC ACID which is an ingredient included in many acne topical creams and gels. It says on the bottle that you can use the shampoo everyday.
I can only imagine how uncomfortable and bothersome scalp acne might by, but give this shampoo a try, follow the directions and see what happens before trimming up. Hopefully the salicylic acid in the shampoo will better control the itching and promote overall healing. I used it today and concentrated on the scalp as opposed to the actual hair and it felt better, but of course it's only been one washing/treatment.
good luck, hope your scalp heals up.
