On YouTube - one of the people I've subscribed to - who does excellent tutorials on braiding, took one of my joking suggestions and turned it into a very cool braid.
For those of you of a nautical persuation it's more interesting since she has taken two rope braids and turned them into a hawser.
And she very kindly gave me credit for it despite the fact that she did all the work.

Here's my first crack at the Hawser braid.
This one really uses up hair length. This would be a great one for those of us with classic length hair.

That looks great Oren - I haven't tried it myself yet but suspect that it would be a bit stubby since my hair is a bit shorter than yours AFTER the braid - at least for now.

That is quite good. For myself - I generally use a rope braid now when "dressing up" - it's so amazingly easy to do by myself. I actually find the "standard" three strand braid fairly tough to do on my own and have taught my wife a four strand braid that she'll do for me.
