Err, so I need a trim. My hair has been growing from a DIY haircut for 6 months now, and is pretty uneven and unkempt looking. I see tons of guys with hair the same length as mine, but which is much better looking. My hair is in excellent shape as far as being soft and shiny and whatnot, but is just not 'cut' right.
Sounds like I need a pro to trim things up so I can be happy with my hair again, until it gets longer. I haven't pair for a haircut in years, usually having someone I know do it for me. Looking through the phonebook is daunting since there are over 50 places in my city. How do I pick one? I know to avoid barbershops since they deal with short hair, but also don't want to end up at the place where girls get their hair done before prom.
So what questions do I ask when I call places? Should I pretend as if I have women's hair (since a lot of places have different prices for men and women)? Help me!
Probably the best thing to do is pick one or more people you know who have good-looking haircuts, and find out who they go to. Word-of-mouth is a lot less chancy than just picking someone from the phone book.
Then make sure the person doing the cutting clearly knows what your goals are.
