I am still growing out the hair and occasionally lurking.
I cut it short December 2007.
I hope everybody is doing well :)

Good thing you asked me about the last haircut, I seem to have conveniently forgotten that my last haircut was in March of 2008.
So this is only my 10 month update. This was my last haircut then and now you can see why I would forget it LOL
I can't take clear pictures and I can't remember stuff today.
[tosses Mensa application in the trash!] :)
As for my health I am still in the middle of the battle I am afraid, this disease is notorious for being difficult to correct.

Hey Steve, thanks for the compliments. It is still weird going through the whole growing out thing again! I am sure I will regret cutting it the more interested in hair I get.
Like I told Mike I wasn't too interested in the inauguration. I was never interested in politics until after 2001. Before that I paid it no attention. I hope Obama does so well that I can give my sense of outrage at the government a much deserved rest and forget about politics again :)

I didn't go to the inaguration. While I am glad that Obama won I am much more interested in what he can actually accomplish than in any fancy speeches he can deliver. We will see that soon enough when he faces the fire...

I don't check on the board very often but by chance and being off of work yesterday I did see Ziggy's post. I replied to him that I should get off my butt and go do an update and so there you have it :)
It is a shame that after all this time I still haven't gotten well enough to do the 'extras' in life like hang out here and such. I am still working on getting better though, it's like a complex puzzle with a better life as the prize!
I hope all is going well with you and you're not freezing your ass off too much in the cold! I appreciate my cushy office job this time of year, LOL

The reason I end up lurking is that most days I don't even check out the site but sometimes I feel better enough to see if anything momentous has happened (like a surpise haircut or something) but not enough to jump right into conversation. It is difficult to explain but I know I don't really have to, all of you guys are the greatest.

Hey thanks a lot Oren, its amazing they let someone like me back in here after getting 3 different haircuts from December 2007 through March of 2008, each much shorter than the previous.
SHUDDER! Well I suppose everybody has a different hair history LOL
WOW your 55 month update was incredible! The mane, the beard!! Astounding, love the different colors of each, what a contrast. Congratulations on a great achievement!

The last haircut and the shortest is in my reply to Matthew, god it looks terrible. That picture should serve as a warning to anyone considering joining the cu(l)t of the Scissors LOL

I was thinking about you, and wondering if you were still sticking with the hair growing. And here you are posting an update. Do you think you will grow it out, now that the health issues aren't bothering you?
Hi Carol, nice to hear from you. Unfortunately I am still very much in the middle of my health crisis. I wish the problems weren't bothering me but that is the main reason you don't see me posting anymore as a regular as I used to do. Most days I just am not up to it.
For now I keep growing my hair against the days when I do feel better and stay that way.

Damn! I thought things were working. Are you still able to keep up with your job? I am recuperating from that nasty stomache flu making its rounds. And I developed anemia some time ago, doctor and I think we know the cause. I will need some testing to confirm, might need surgery. Taking it one day at a time. I should be in bed, but after spending 6 days doing mostly sleeping, I'm wired. I just realized it's 4:30 AM, and I'm still up. Well, it's nice to see you drop by. I don't get here as much, because the damn anemia is zapping my energy. :-|
I am very sorry to hear that you are being plagued by new health troubles as if you didn't have more than enough already!
Is the surgery related to the anemia then? I wish there were an easier solution but if that is what it takes to fix it.
For me the biggest problem I have to deal with is the depression I have from being on an all protein and not much of that even diet. Literally starving myself almost. I am struggling to find the right amount of food and medicine so that I do feel like doing things during the day. Most days I simply dont feel like doing much so far. I hope to change that.
The surgery will put an end to what's causing the anemia, if it's what my doctor and I believe to be the cause. e are pretty sure about the cause. Something middle-aged women commonly face, my SIL had it done, and is much better for it. I will be seeing her surgeon for a consult.
I can totally understand not feeling up to doing anything. I thought I finally beat the fatigue when I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and Osteomalacia. I _was_ feeeling better, then the fatigue returned with a vengeance. Thought it was me needing me thyroid meds, but lab work revealed anemia. I take iron pills for now, and they do help.
I still can't believe nobody has a solution for you. This country has some of the best medicine in the world. It's troubling that nothing appears to have worked for you. I really wish you and your medical team could find something that is effective in iradicating this problem. Let's hope for a better year, health wise, for the both of us.
I hope if you do need the surgery that it works as well for you as for your SIL. I do not know how you have the emotional and physical strength to face what you do every single day, and here I was complaining! You really don't know what other people are facing. I must confess to being jealous of people occasionally when they seem to have everything, but who knows what they really have to face. I need to be less discontent I suppose.
It's not really funny but you did make laugh inadvertantly with your one line:
"I really wish you and your medical team could find something that is effective in iradicating this problem."
Medical Team LOL, my medical team consists of one doc whose only virtue is that he does believe candida is real and is willing to write me prescriptions for antifungals. I had to talk him into giving me those as he was convinced I didn't have candida since I wasn't responding to the paltry amounts he was giving me originally. I pretty much am fighting this battle on my own. The internet is actually the best part of my medical team :)

Thanks for the kind words Scott. I know I must seem confusing to other people on the whole hair growing/cutting issue. For me the hair enthusiasm seems to be directly proportional to my lack of depression for the day. I hope I do not get depressed enough to cut my hair as happened before.
I strive every day to get better in general and the hair is really just along for the ride :)

I haven't been that active recently myself, since I have been spending the last month and a half with someone special, who had to undergo some significant surgery recently. i set out on the road for home this morning, and hope to become more active once again.

Thanks for the warm words. I am still struggling and painfully learning what I need to do to feel better for longer and longer times. I still blow it occasionally like this last weekend I set myself back with my impatience.
I am glad you are still in your long distance relationship. That must be hard indeed to manage, I have never had to do so. Your special someone is very lucky to have such a fine gentleman as yourself looking out for her and I hope she is recuperating well.
