Hi everyone - here is my latest update photo (taken yesterday). Many more photos of my face fur have been posted on the BCBB. The mane hasn't been trimmed in over ten years and is gradually getting shorter with age. However, the face fur is getting longer with age:) The goatee is at 48 months, the chops are at 30 months, and the 'stache is at 18 months.
Hi. If you hair is getting shorter without you cutting it, then that means you have reached terminal and that your terminal is going backwards. Nonetheless, your hair looks nice and it has waves in it.
Matthew
Matthew,
What is actually happening is that as the longer hairs reach the resting stage and eventually fall out, they are being replaced with seemingly identical hairs that have a slightly shorter growth phase. Thus, the replacement hairs have a shorter terminal length before they too fall out and are replaced with hairs having an even shorter growth phase. As this replacement gradually occurs over several cycles, you hair can actually "grow shorter!" I'd rather my hair be growing longer, but there are certainly much worse things I could be dealing with.
Very cool! Your hair and beard look awesome. Belt length facial, now that's cool!
Thanks ESDI-80. Actually, my face mane is a bit below waist length. I'm "blessed" with an extremely long terminal length for everything that grows in front of my ears. I expect that the goatee and chops will eventually reach upper thigh length, and possibly even mid-thigh length:)
That's a cool combo as your beard blends so nicely with your mane you almost can't tell which is which.I also have to say you are very unique as I've never seen a guy in person with hair and a beard like yours.Something that not everyone can do but yours looks great my friend.
Mark
Thanks Hairball - your compliment is appreciated. Actually, I'm quite a hairball myself! I work very hard to be unique but the Phoenix summer can be a challenge.
Ha Ha! Yea I know what you mean about the Phoenix summer as I was out your way back in July of '06.I was amazed at the intensity of the daytime heat and even at 11pm it was still 95 degrees!Hmmm but as I sit here and checking our local temperature of 16 degrees I could use some of that heat right now:)Oh and yes,you ARE quite the hairball!!Take care my friend

Don't encourage my follicles, Oren:) They seem to have growing down pat already. Living with all this hair about the head is getting difficult, especially this 'stache. I can't imagine things a year from now, but I'm determined to hold out and not trim. This is becoming an epic growth challenge!
There's hair in every direction! Nice!
Bruce
Thanks Bruce, and EVERY direction is right - including between the teeth, under the tongue, in the eyes and ears, and even (sometimes) down the throat after swallowing some of the longer hairs! I wish I was kidding, but I've had to excuse myself from the table several times to literally extract a considerable length of still-attached hair from my esophagous. So far, most of the swallowing problems has been with the chops. But my 'stache is far from terminal length and will soon join in the "fun."
awesome!!that's probs the longest goatee I've ever seen! :))
Thanks:) There is a dude named Merle Allin with the Murder Junkies who has an unbelievable, near floor-length goatee. It could be an extension, but I'm not sure. I've also seen photos on the Internet of longer goatees, but mine is certainly the longest I've seen in person.
Hey LongMane:
That is a kickass look you have going on there...LOVE IT!!! Congrats.
Max
Thanks:) Even longer face fur and more earrings are on the way. I even wear a few facial chains from time to time.

You look fantastic. All I can say is WOW. I love the way your long goatee integrates so well with your mane. The ultimate hippie.
I wonder what a full beard would have looked like. You are truely blessed to be able to grow such long facial hair. I would love to be able to grow a beard 2 feet plus in length.
To keep your mane from losing any more length, try MSM and biotin supplements. They are both great for hair, and extend the growing cycle. I hope you come out west again sometime in the future. It was cool to meet you at that SF longhair meet.
Scott
Thanks Scott:) I don't even know what MSM is, and where can you get biotin? I've seen your posts in the past, but obviously haven't given these supplements any serious thought. And I would trade my face mane for that near knee-length ponytail!

You have really gorgeous long facial hair. It is by far the longest here at MLHH, and something to be proud of. I think your goatee hair is as long as "Fuzzy" has, although he has a full beard. (He is on the beard board. The background scenery in one of his photos indicates to me that it is likely he lives in Santa Rosa CA.)
MSM (methyl sulfonyl methane) is very good for you joints. I take it to keep them in good shape. It really helps hair to grow healthier and longer too.
Biotin is a B vitamin which is very good for your hair and extends the growing cycle.
Both of these can be found at a health food store and I would recommend them. These may help your facial and head hair grow a bit longer.
My hair does actually reach the crease of my knees now. I am hoping that MSM and biotin will help my facial hair get caught up a bit too.
Scott
Thanks for the detailed explanation. I'll have to check on these the next time I pass a health foods store. Based on a recent face fur poll that included a question on length, I'm already ahead of Fuzzy by an inch. Of course, that's just a few of my longest hairs, while Fuzzy is packing an awesome full 'n fluffy face mane.
