Oh the joy's of being anonymous!
Does anyone know who I am and would be great to see a face. But I have to hide and not leave a e-mail link in my posts. Must be nice to a have 12 week standing trim. So what do think trimmers?
Cheers,
John.B
PS...I don't hide rofl!
Yes Daisy Duke!
Love your hair John!

Quote from Scientific Finds Inc. (Vol. 2, Page 527, 1999 edition):
"Scientists have discovered in a remote cave in Taunton Mass. what appears to be embedded into stone that of a human thought to have lived 87 thousand years ago. Appeared to have long hair with a face in it."
So now we have 2 mysteries! I'm trying to figure-out the face cause I remember people from back then. Think I went to "Cave Skool" with a double-face before evolution began printing faces on one side of a person. (But I was fully evolved by then so had but one face myself.)
LOL :-)
That very straight red hair is actually familiar. Sorry though, I don't even recall the handle he used, or if he ever posted here on a regular basis.
Hi John,
Well, maybe that *is* his face, --- with longhairs, all you have to do is comb your hair forwards... and put your pants on backwards (LOL)!!
Thanks also for your reply below, John!
Long Lox 4ever,
Ken
John! Uh! Uh! I know, I know (raising my hand) it's this guy!
Hmmm, let me break out my Troll Manual, yes... here it is... starts with M... ends with k. has *ic* in the middle.
Come on out and play, troll! (stomping on the bridge)
Oh well, it looks like he went back to his Troll Cave, *sigh*.
Paul
Hi Paul,
That manual sounds very good. Does it have an appendix called "12 week standing joke"!
Cheers,
John.B
still:
But what of this pic found in the appendix of the 1999 Scientific article I mentioned below?
Could it have been a Troll of the ancient civalization: DuhGammon? (Civalization that never showed their faces.) And to think, embedded in a cave forever!
Preserved in amber, maybe? If only we could obtain viable DNA, perhaps a clone could be produced. MLHH members could pool our collective resources, buy a tropical island, and open a theme park in which modern humans could catch a glimpse of their long-haired ancestors!

Why exactly would it be great to see my face? Are you more interested in faces or hair? What exactly is the topic of this forum?
Ever think I might have good reasons to not post my face? My face appears nowhere on the Net. Once you post a picture, you lose control over it. I don't get the hang up about seeing my face. I respect your decision to post your picture. Too bad that respect doesn't go both ways.
I've been a mod and member on other forums. Non of the members on these other forums post pictures of themselves. I don't get the need here at this site.
One member here in this thread took the picture that you posted of me and put it in photoshop to modify it. That's fine. But I don't want to give people the oportunity to do that with my face.
And me being a troll? I've posted on this board since the year 2001. Very few people here have been around that long. If not posting a face picture means someone is a troll, then 99.9% of forums on the Net are completely made up of a membership of trolls.
I think it has more to do with you disagreeing with some of my comments. How dare I post that I agree with trims and had great success with trimming? Do the rules prohibit that?
It's sad that some members here feel that they have to make fun of someone who doesn't post pictures of their face. If that gives you joy, then all the power to you and please continue.
I personally find joy in so many other positive things in life.
I just hope that the maturity level of most of the people here is a little higher.
Well, well "Mick",
I noticed you gave no reason for the paranoia about posting your pic. Frankly, I don't really care if you post your face or not. I just don't trust you, I think you are lying about your hair. You show us your hair from the back, not a single strand out of place. Doesn't look real to me.
You really seem to try to bum people out about their hair, that's why I think you're a troll.
You have said some ugly things in the past about a lot of peoples' hair.
Remember these post Mick?

Posted by Mick on September 14, 2008 at 04:47:36: "Sorry if every long haired guy doesn't have the rat's nest thing going on..."
and "There are so many pictures posted here where the guy's hair looks like holy hell. I ofter wonder if they purposely choose the very worst picture of their that they can find to post."
Posted by Mick on September 14, 2008 at 04:04:21: "Some people might say the same about you if they judged just by your avatar pic ;-)" (said with a wink smiley?)
A lot of conceit going on there, since your not posting your face you should be a little nicer.
I'll be watching you and if you post any more negative comments to any body here I'll be on your butt like white on rice.
Oh, and by the way your are not a moderator here.
Paul
PS To the REAL moderators here, please delete this if you think I went too far.
Hi Paul,
Wow, you really did your homework as this is definately an eye opening post.Oh,and I have no problem with what you posted as you just listed Mick's own words and who could dispute that. You know there is the old saying that if you have nothing nice to say then don't say anything at all. After reading Mick's past posts maybe he should have followed that advice.Kudos to you Paul as I love you longhaired enthusiasm my friend:)Cheers

This does help put things in perspective doesn't it. It's one thing to criticize others as Mike has from the shadows and another when your known to the community and much more active. As I said below it's a matter of choice, some choose not to show themselves and say unkind things or be critical and we can choose whether to give them any credibility based on our observations.
I could go on but you all get the point, and thanks Paul for doing all the leg work on that. Well done.
Kevin
Forty five years ago when I was a teenager, kids would make crank phone calls. At about the same age it did not take a great logic jump to figure out that anonymous words are worthless words. It is the reputation of the speaker of words that gives them value, and anonymous utterances are not backed up by any reputation.
This situation is no different now that we have the Internet. Human behavior and humans' ability to evaluate it doesn't change.
My comment to anyone who posts anonymously is this:
Your first name, your last name, your hometown, your picture... The availability of these can add to readers of your writings the sense that your writings are SIGNED. At some point as more information is provided, your readers will sense that you are a real person, and only then will you have any credibility. Your first name alone won't cut it. The forum here allows anonymous participation, but others won't, deeper than a very superficial level, regard you as a member of any social group so long as you keep showing up with a paper bag over your head.
Are you so ashamed of your words that you would not put your name to them? If so, why should anyone else waste their time reading them?
Bill
Hey Bill, it's great to see that you are back posting on MLHH, --- I miss reading your regular contributions!! I have to admit that maybe my extending of the proverbial Olive branch (in my reply to him, above) towards Mick might just end up being a total waste of my time; but, hey, I guess sometimes I'm still a bit of a dreamy-eyed idealist "old hippie" at heart, --- either that, or maybe just watching too many "happily ever-after ending" Disney movies recently (LOL)!!
In any case... I miss seeing you!!... And next time I come over to your house, just for fun I'll wear a paper bag over my head (although you'll recognize me because my long hair will still be sticking out from under it - LOL)!!

Hi Mick,
I have to admit that you defended yourself very eloquently here, --- even though I understand the beef that some of the others who have criticized you have about you.... Heck, even I have found myself to be very annoyed by some of your posts you've made in the past!
It's interesting that sometimes I've found myself simultaneously both annoyed at you AND admired you for speaking up so bluntly about certain topics that you disagreed with most everyone else here about.
I will respect your desire and commitment to yourself to not show your face here; BUT.... you do realize, don't you, that the ONLY pic you've ever shared with us of yourself is a very blurry, oddly-colored small photo of your back froma distance, --- NOT something that looks all too convincing that you might just be wearing a red wig on your head!
I also want to "turn a new leaf over" towards you, trying to essentially "shake hands" (on-line, at least) w/ you in a gesture of peace, and start treating you more respectfully than maybe I have in the past myself... But, in turn, please realize that your free-wheeling tongue of feeling like you have the right to criticize and bluntly (and sometimes even rudely) disagree w/ others or knock them down so quickly deserves the time-honored warning: "People in glass haouses shouldn't throw stones!"
On our San Francisco city busses, there is a wonderful little poster that I see on occasion, aimed at drivers to remind them of how to behave with courtesy: "Give respect, get respect!", it says... And that about sums it up!
