Thanks for being here...
The last time that I had a haircut was about 3 years ago. This picture was taken with my brother (I'm on your left) in August of 2008. The lockas are considerably longer now.
The hair hasn't been allowed to grow long since my teens. Back then it was shoulder length to mid-back but a life spent in the business world kept the hair pretty high and tight.
Now it's time to do what i want and when so down it goes...where it stops nobody knows.
Anyway, I stopped in here a couple of years ago and picked up some support and encouragement from one of the mods.
So thanks again and carry on mates!
Doug
Hi Doug and welcome back!
That's a great pic of you as your hair looks awesome even though its not terribly long yet.Looks like you chose Starbucks as your backdrop:)LOL.Its cool that after many years in the corporate world you are now in the position to have longhair again.Too bad its so unacceptable to be longhaired in a business environment as they need to lighten up a bit.I feel very fortunate to have been able to have my hair long from my early 20s to present day. That's more than 20 years of being a longhair and I couldn't be happier.Anyway thanks for telling us about yourself and posting your cool pic my friend.Cheers
Mark
Thanks everybody! What a great group...I sure appreciate the comments.
It occurred to me that you might like to see a pic taken back in 1971 or so. The guy on your left is one my big brothers (Joseph). Just after the picture I was "drafted" into alternative service as a concienteous objector to the Viet Nam war and off came the hair until now.
Wow what a life though in those....movin' and groovin' in Venice Beach in the 60's and 70's.
Thanks again for the support!
Doug
Now that's what we like to hear! Welcome back and we look forward to seeing how far it grows.
Kevin
Great seeing you around again and so glad the hair is doing so well. :-)
All the best-
Justin~

Wow, your hair looks really nice - I especially like the curls at the bottom half.
Ah, add another to the "Old Farts" list!
I'm in the same boat; in the business world since college, and had a "health event" that made me realize what I care about is important. I also just passed the three year mark in December, right after my 55th birthday, and have been a member here for about 2 1/2 years.
My saving grace is that Ken and DavidN will always be a little older than I am!
Welcome!
Hi Doug,
What a wonderful photo, and welcome back to the hyperboard, and you can be assured of lots of support as you continue to grow your hair longer. I am another one of the guys with a "few more years" on the clock, and have been a member for 2-2 1/2 years. It is true that long hair is for everyone!
Keep it growing,
David
Hi Doug, love it!
It makes you wonder how many more of us there are out there in the business world who would grow it if they were allowed to. I'm a carpenter so I haven't had much trouble. I'm always thrilled when a guy from your background grows his hair!

Doug;
Looks even better now than it did in the "70's !!
Age give us those "natural hightlights" that are so
distinctive ! HA!
Thanks for Sharing and keep the updates coming.

Doug,
You hair looks awesome! Keep it growing!

Looks great Doug, curly hair is great looking but it seems like a real pain to take care of. I had long straight hair with not a hint of any body or texture so I am always jealous of those with interesting hair :) I am growing it out again.
Welcome to the MLHH
Very fine looking hair Doug, it take super patience to grow long hair that is so curly, but the results are always astounding. Fantastic!!
Cheers Dave
Welcome and greetings back!
Looks great Doug!
