Greetings, fellow longhairs!
In attempting to catch up with all that I've been missing here recently, it was great to see some posts from some of my favorite past users who rarely post much nowadays, --- especially, from Bill, Oren, and ChrisG!
Also, a big belated WELCOME to all the newbies here... it was great reading all your nice introductions!
I'm calling this pic of me from behind a, "semi-Update", because this photo of my hair was actually taken last year, --- it's just that this year it looks approximately about the same length to me as last year, the only difference being: I don't have to tilt my head back as far in order for it to reach my belt now (LOL)!!
The hair is still growing, although very very sslllo-o-o-o-o-o-o-owwwwly... *IF* I ever get to butt-length, I predict I'll probably a very old OLD man by then!
- Ken in San Francisco
Your hair looks really nice! I really like the highlights and waves!
Thanks, George! And as far as the highlights go... that's all the white hairs coming in to say hello (lol)!!
Hi Ken, great to hear from you and superb mane, you have those amazing natural highlights, I have them too and love them. Your hair is just fab!!
cheers Dave
Thanks Dave! And, like I told Big George: my hair's highlights are all the white hairs I have now (LOL)!!
Hi Ken,
What a pleasure to hear from you, and your hair is looking fab, as always! I hope things are going great for you these days.
Like you, I haven't been very active on the hyperboard lately. I spent the past 6 weeks away from home, with Tammy, after her recent surgery, and only arrived back home yesterday.
I hope to see you around more often, and my best, as alawys!
Take care,
David
Thanks so much, David! And I'm so glad to hear that you & Tammy are still seeing each other!! (And also glad to hear thatt she is doing fine after her surgery)
I had a quick glance at your wonderful update pics, above; but, will respond to that post once I catch up w/ my thank you replies here...
In any case, thanks again for your kind words!!
- Ken
Hi Ken.Yea, I know what you mean about some of the older members popping in recently.Actually its great that they do then I know they still have longhair and have not caved into the scissors!LOL.Your pic, even though a year old, looks fantastic as you should do a similar one now and compare them to really see how much new growth you've achieved.Anyway thanks for the pic and message and hope to hear from you soon again my friend.Cheers
Mark
Thanks, Mark! Yes, you're right: I should take a more recent pic, just to compare; but, I am SO-O-O-O lazy these days!!! Maybe next year, when the difference will be even more significant (lol)!!
Take care, my friend, --- and, also, it was a pleasure talking to you on the phone a couple of weeks ago as well!
- Ken
Great to see your post Ken.....the board just isn't the same without "Cowboy Humor" ! HA!
Keep Well and stop working so much !!
Walter
Thanks, Walter! But, I think you worded your 2nd comment wrong... You probably MEANT to say: "the board just isn't the same without that Cowboy's SICK Humor!" (LOL)
--- and, yes, I will try not to work so much!
- Ken
Love the natural highlights Ken! Even if it don't grow much longer it's still great looking hair, and probably will be for a long time.
I was wondering what happened to you?
Paul
Hi Paul,
Thanks for your nice comments! Yeah, for an old geezer of 55 now, I guess I have to admit that I'm pretty lucky in the hair department. When / if I ever make it into my 80s or 90s, maybe by then my hair will be dragging on the floor behind my wheelchair (LOL)!!
No need to ever worry about what happened to me when I don't post much, as I always at least TRY to keep up with lurking!
Thanks again!
- Ken
Greetings back at ya Ken, Your hair is looking as awesome as ever! Beautiful color variations from brown to silver blond!
Believe my hair has stopped growing also. Sides have finally caught up with the back.---Hello to Even!
peace, jonalbear
Thanks so much, jonalbear, --- and Even says hello back to you!!
It's amazing to think that it doesn't seem all that long ago that the barber shop that you used to go to just burned down... and now you are saying that the sides of your hair has finally caught up with the back, --- WOW!!!!
Take care, jonalbear, --- and say hello to your other half for me, too!!
- Ken
Hey Ken
Semi-update or not, that is one awesum example of a longhair at his best. Long hair to die for!
And what's with this "olde" stuff? You? NEVER! (I'm the fossil around here.) LOL :-)
It may be growing at a slower rate now but regardless, it IS growing and your neck is now saved from possible dislocation because you no longer have to tilt your head back to display such a gorgeous mane.
Standing ovation!
Justin~
No worries about my neck ever being dislocated from tilting my head back too far, Justin, --- I could almost have butt-length hair now, if I tilted my head back far enough (LOL)!!
Thanks for the nice comments, Justin!
Hey Ken
Nice to hear from you and always a pleasure to see your pics. Man I love the texture and the natural highlights running though the hair. People spend lots of time and money to get the great texture and colors that you get for free :)
Fantastic mane and I am glad it still looks this good and even a bit better!
I hope things are going great for you this new year. Take care and don't work too hard :)
Thanks so much for your kind words, Chris! I also got a chance to see your update pic & post, which is now WAAAY down the page now (lol)....
And yes, I'll try not to work too hard, --- the good news is that I'm lazy by nature, at least!!
- Ken
Hi Ken. Nice wavy hair. I love the waves. Your hair is growing slowly due to you approaching terminal length. In case you did not know, my cousin have been killed just this past week.
Matthew aka Regardless
Hi Matthew,
Thanks for your nice comments, Matthew!
Yes, in catching up on as many posts as I could, below, I also had a chance to read your thread about your cousin. I am so sorry to hear of this tragedy. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this very difficult time.
Take Care,
Ken
Ken,
You hair is looking great as always. I keep hoping one day mine will be that long. I fear I have a shorter terminal length as it seems to have topped at 3/4Ths down my back.
Mike
Thanks for your kind comments, Mike!
As far as terminal length goes, I often remind myself of the fact that I know a local guy who has been growing his mane for many, many years, --- and yet his ponytail is still so tiny that it doesn't reach even the top of his shoulders... it's all relative, I guess!! Danny Cecati (or whatever his name is that's the lead singer of the Australian band Eyefear), for example, to me has such a ridiculously long terminal length that it seems too unreal to me, --- and yet most of us here (including myself) are hoping for more more MORE length (lol)!! Let's face it, Mike: we're both "hair-aholics", --- along with just about everyone else that's a regular here at MLHH (lol)!!
Thanks again, Mike, --- it's always nice to hear from you!!
- Ken
looking damn good Ken awesome mane! :)
Many thanks, Mark, --- and your mane is looking pretty damn good these days, too!!
As much as I am a "length freak", it's really NOT all about just length... it's about... it's about... ummmm... it's about... Well, it's about HAIR that at least looks good, --- although especially I'd say, LOOOOOOONG hair (lol)!!
My best to you in your continued happy hair farming!
- Ken
Well Ken the hair looks good as usual and butt length is not far away. You might reach butt length by your 35th birthday if your lucky.
Be sure to get it trimmed every 12 weeks so it looks perfect.
Kevin
LOL, okay; but, I thought I was supposed to go in for trims every 6 weeks, --- I'm such a slave to fashion and style-consciousness, you know (lol)!!
And I'm so glad to hear that I might make butt-length by my 35th b-day, WHEW!!! Being a mere teen at the moment (ahemmmm...), --- in my fantasy-filled little mind, at least --- that means that I still have PLENTY of time to reach my goal... and, maybe even knee-length by the time I hit my 40s?? WOW, just think: that might mean that maybe by the time I reach the "golden years" of being in my mid-50s, I can possibly look as awesome as Danny Cecati w/ my mane dragging behind me on the floor!!!
Thanks, Kevin, --- I knew I could count on you to not stopping the payment on my "reality check" (LOL)!!!!
- Ken
Wow, Ken your hair looks great!! I agree with what everyone else says about the natural waves and color of your hair, it is truly something to be proud of!
Thanks so much, --- and yes, I am indeed proud... my belt-length hair is the direct result of hard-earned sweat and toil and tears from all the back-breaking old-fashioned hair farming I've accomplished (LOL).... in other words, staying away from scissors! It's a tough job: but, SOMEbody has to do it! Next year: butt-length hair... A year or 2 after that: winning the Nobel Peace Prize for universally outlawing buzz-cuts on all men (lol)!!
(As you can see, I have a very strange and warped mind, w/ a weird & twisted sense of humor...)
In any case, take care, --- and thanks again for the nice compliment!
- Ken
That distinct and beautiful waist length mane has got to be the one-and-only...(drum roll)...Urban Cowboy!
Looking fab Ken!
- Oren
Hey Oren,
I am totally honored to recieve a drum roll, Oren, --- WOW, now that's what i call, "makin' it big & livin' Uptown!" Just one small problem, though: if I could just get rid of my excess flab, THEN I'd feel I'd be looking totally "fab" (lol)!!
In all seriousness, though, I just want to say how great it is to see you around these here parts again, Oren... The Wild Wild Hair Frontier just ain't the same without you occasionally ridin' into town, pardner! I was pleasantly surprised when I first saw you coming back in to plunk your butt down (as well as your amazing hair & beard), sitting on that old familiar bar stool and sharing a nice tall, cool one with us at the MLHH Saloon!
I hope you keep posting here, although I totally understand why it may not be as frequently as in the past (especially considering I haven't been able to come here very frequently, either, myself - LOL)....
Take care, --- and thanks again for the nice comments!
- Ken
Good to hear from you, Ken. May 2009 bring a little less head-tilting. :-P
As always, the mane is looking fantastic!
Mouse
It's always a pleasure to hear from you, Mouse! And that couldn't be a nicer wish for 2009, --- less head-tilting is indeed looking gradually more and more an unnecessary forecast for my future... especially when I lean my head forward nowadays, I can actually "stretch the truth" by very little, if I just look down and lean way to the right or way to the left, calling my mane "knee-length" (or, if lifting my legs even higher, "ankle-length" - LOL)!!
Take care, --- and thanks again!!
- Ken
Hey Ken, always a pleasure to see one of your updates. Keeps me positive since I will be 50 very soon. We 50+ year olds can hold our own I suppose. :-) Looking superior as always!
Cheers,
Max
Thanks so much for the nice words of encouragement, Max! But, YOU, turning 50??? NO WAY!!!! With a physique like yours, I bet you can out-perform a typical teen-ager!!
By the way, your mane is lookin' mighty fine these days as well, --- and I always enjoy reading your posts and replies here; just wish I had more free-time more often so I wouldn't have to be so late in replying to folks, or only have time to lurk in the shadows... I miss "the good old days" of being a MLHH-aholic (lol)!!
Take care, --- and thanks gain for your kind words!
- Ken
Ken, your posts are always fun to read! You have a great way with words.
Your hair looks great and I predict that you'll reach "butt" length long before "39"!
Bruce
LOL, thanks, Bruce!!
But.... Hey now, wait just a dog-gone minute there... Wasn't it Kevin that said I would achieve butt-length by age 35??? So, how did I age by four additiona years so quickly! Are you trying to stop payment on my "reality check"?? SHAME on you for that cold bucket of water tossed into the face of such an innocent little teenager such as me!!! (Cough cough cough cough...)
Well, I guess it's time for me to just pick up my marbles then and go play "elsewhere"... Disneyland, maybe? (LOL)
Thanks again, Bruce, for your very thoughtful & kind comments!
- Ken
Oh did I say 39? I meant 29! Damn typos LOL!
Bruce
Do you suppose the slow growth might be that you are approaching terminal length? I wonder what causes hair growth to slow down, and even stop at lengths far shorter that what one was capable of in youth? And why does this problem seem to plague men more than women? Anywhoo... you've still got an uber-kool mane there.
