Well hello there, a bit late but this is my results after 37 months of no trims and no fiddles. Its gone a bit wilder again recently :-)
Cheers everyone
~ Dave
and a bit closer . . .
Closer
and the back.
Hey Davvieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Man, I just love the look of your awesome hair and this back shot rules:)You have such an unusual head of hair that I'm sure you wish you had grown it out many more years ago instead of 37 months.Well the main thing is you've seen the longhaired light and are enjoying the fruits of your labour. Thanks for the update and I hope the hair hasn't interfered that much with your biking.I'm looking forward to the warmer weather so I can dust off the ole bikes and go riding:)Take care my friend!Cheers
Mark
hey there Marki-babes, thanks for the positive comments. It is not a problem with my cycling just yet, but maybe as it gets longer, I will see, but for the moment I am enjoying it.
Thanks again buddy
~ Dave
Dave, Such wonderful hair you have! Keep it growin''n flowin'!
peace, jonalbear
Hello there JonalBear and thankyou, hope all is well out there.
Take care, Dave
Wow, this shot is great!
From this pic, it looks like it would be rather easy for you to get dreads using the "neglect method".
I read you said that you never comb your hair, have you ever thought about getting dreads??
Well JMPAH, yes I have thought about dreads, but some people in the UK see this as something that travellers, hippies, vagrants have and meeting clients and getting employment 'may' be affected by this. Sad but true.
The other reason I haven't gone the dread route is that I have heard that if you change your mind on them you have to shave the hair off and start again, which is not really an option after investing so much time in growing it.
However t does naturally dread to a degree, so in a sense I get the best of both worlds :-)
Thanks for your interesting comments JMPAH.
~ Dave
Looking great there Dave! Just one question.
A bit wilder than what?
Thanks George, 'a bit wilder than what it was before' :-)
~ Dave
Hi Dave,
What a pleasure to get an update from you, and your hair is ceratinly getting some good length now, and I am glad to see that you are keeping everything "natural and wild"!
I haven't been online much recently, after being away for so long, and and only catching up a bit now, since I arrived home late yesterday.
Cheers,
David
Hi David, great to hear from you, thankyou as always for your kind comments.
Take care,
Dave
Looks great,Dave. It definitely suits you.
Thankyou very much JSFrodo.
~ Dave
I am amazed that your hair has maintained that unique shaggy look despite reaching the length it has. You have a very unique hair growth pattern. It probably grows in multiple crowns or spirals. I am guessing maybe 6 to 10 of them. This would produce a chaotic hair growth pattern.
What did the swirls in your hair look like when it was short? Do you remember how many there were?
Most people have only 1 spiral at the top of their head. I used to have 3 as a child. I had 1 above each temple and the usual one at the top of my head. The ones above the temples made my hair form a pair of "horns". The temple crowns have disappeared and now I have only one. The vast majority of the population has a clockwise spiral. Some have 2 spirals. (see image)
Keep growing your hair. It should be interesting to see how it changes as waist length is reached.
Scott
Thanks Scott, you could be right, I never checked my crowns when my hair was short, I guess it wasn't apparent then. I certainly like my chaotic hair pattern.
Cheers Dave
WOW...that's alotta (is that a word?) hair for 37 months!
Looks great!
Doug
It is!! Thanks Doug!
Dave
Dave;
Great to see your update.....quite some length and it looks like the weight is pulling out some of the tight curlyness.
Lookin' Good as usual !!
Thanks for Sharing
Walter
Thankyou for your kind comments Walter!
Cheers Dave
looking kickass Dave just an outstanding update thats some long hair my friend! :)
Thanks Mark, keep it rockin' dude!
~ Dave
Hi Dave,
Thanks for the great update pic. All I can say is WOW and looks even more wilder than ever and suits you very well. Just shows how interesting the longhair journey can be as yo unever know how things turn out.
So "12 week" trimmers what do you think!
Cheers,
John.B
Thanks John, I am very pleased at the way my hair turned out.
Trimmers, eh?
~ Dave
Cool looking "rocker" style hair Dave, it looks great! No trims indeed.
Paul
Hi there Paul and thanks for your positiveness in all things longhaired.
Dave
That's one damn epic head of hair,no trims needed, indeed.
Thanks a lot Rafael!!
~ Dave
Hey congratulations on over 3 years of increasingly wild and very cool hair! You make quite a formidable presence in the picture you must really get a lot of attention in real life, but then artists are supposed to be wild and unpredictable :)
I agree with Mark that that back shot is quite amazing and astounding. I avoided using the word 'awesome' for JohnB's sanity :)
Hi There Chris and thanks for your reply.
I do get number of comments now which is cool, I have had unkown ladies come up to me in the street twice and tell me how they love it, which s unheard of in the UK !!
Makes it worth while :-)
Cheers Dave
Wild and wonderful! I cannot imagine you any other way Dave. The long hair suits you so perfectly. Nothing short of magnificent!
Applause!
Justin~
Wow, fine praise indeed from the High Priest of longhairdom and YouTube star!!
Thankyou and best wishes Justin
~ Dave
Your hair has some great waves and it looks good. By the way, have you ever had split ends?
Matthew
Thanks Matthew, I have had and do have a few split ends, but I ignore them and forget them.
Cheers Dave
Dave,
Your hair is long and great looking! Is your hair naturally shaggy or do you make it shaggy, (By not combing it)?
Take care,
Mike
HI Mike, great to hear from you and thanks for your comments.
You are 100% correct, I NEVER comb my hair - EVER!
Take care dude
~ Dave
Dave,
How do you deal with the tangles. If I never combed my hair, it would be a tangled birds nest. LOL Do you finger comb at all?
Mike
LOL! yes I do finger comb, but only now and then, when I wash and condition I do get tangles but probably (k)not any more than most.
cheers Dave
Nice, fluffy mane! Consider yourself fortunate that your hair fluffs up naturally. I can make my mane look similar, but I have to work at it.
Thanks for your comments, yes my 'big hair' is all natural.
Dave
It may be a bit wilder but it's more than a bit longer and looks brilliant.
Cheers
Kevin
Thanks Mr President.
regards Dave
Hey Dave, you always have such inspirational updates. You are looking...as I say on occasion...kickass! It gets better and better all the time. Keep up the good work buddy.
Cheers,
Maxie-babes
Hi there Maxie-Babes, thanks so much for stopping by and giving positive comments, I'm really pleased how my chaotic hedge turned out :-)
Take care big buddy
~ Dave
Hey Dave ! Thanks for this photos. Sure, your hair is wild :) But it's really nice, and it's very long now. By the way, How to you wear usually ? Down ?
Bye
Vivien
Hi Vivien, and thanks for your comments. Yes I nearly always wear it down, I only wear it in a ponytail for cycling and doing mucky jobs or painting!
~ Dave
Dave, your hair is great man! I always think hair looks best when you just dont mess with it and let it grow by itself! And your pic deffinately proved that!
Keep it growin man!
Thanks JMPAH, yep you're right, let nature take its course!
~ Dave
Great hair! Like the shaggy look, and loose dreads you've got.
Thanks a lot George, my hair dreads itself more each day after a wash, but I like it and I don't suffer from many knots and tangles either.
~ Dave
Look fantastic Dave!
Love the natural shaggy look - you do it well!
- Oren
Thanks Oren, great to hear from you.
Take care, Dave
Looks damn good! I love the uniqueness to your mane, looks fantastic on you. Keep it growing!
Cheers,
Hegg
Thankyou Hegg, keep it growing buddy!
~ Dave
Awesome Dave! I saw the first pic and before I could think "it would be great to see one from the back" I noticed you did post one. It looks great and you certainly have your own style for long hair and it totally suites you. Very epic hair man, great length, Good to hear from you.
-Phil
Thankyou very much Phil, good to hear from you too.
Best wishes and keep rockin' \m/
~ Dave
Wildly good as always, Dave!
Mouse
Thankyou Mouse!!
~ Dave
Still spectacular---"no fiddling" works great for you.
Chris
Thanks Chris, I like to think so, prim and proper just isn't me.
~ Dave
Hair looks great. The length really looks good. Keep it growing.
Thanks Garth, I intend to go lots longer!!
Now I am truly envious Dave! That's about where my hair was at before I allowed to be trimmed by my wife. Its still long and it did get rid of some splits. She wanted more off and I wanted less. I guess we're both happy, but still, I want your hair!!
Keep it growin'!
Bruce
Sorry but its all mine Bruce :-), anyway you have a fine head of hair despite your wife's best efforts :-)
Thanks for commenting.
~ Dave
Dave, as far as fiddles go, I just love to hear them in a Country / Western band! But, if no fiddling with your hair results in a terrific-looking mane such as yours (wild-looking as it is, --- which I totally LOVE), then I need to follow more in your hairy wild-man footsteps!!
It's always a pleasure to see your updates, --- living proof that although we all have a fondness for long protein strands in common, we each express ourselves as longhairs in very individualistic ways!
Take care, --- and please always keep the "nutti" aspect as part of your name & reputation, Dave!
- Ken
Hey Ken , thanks so much for your kind and cool response, strands of hair tying everyone together in brotherhood eh?
Everyone calls me nuttidave so I couldn't change it if I wanted to, off-the-wall Dave would probably describe me better but it doesn't have the same ring.
Thanks again Ken
~ Dave
Hey Dave,
You've really got that wild-hair look working for you. It really looks great and suits you. I'm noticing more length as well.
Jason
Thanks Jason, I'm really enjoying the journey.
Cheers Dave
I've always loved your crazy, wild mane. It's so YOU! (I will personally search and kill you if you ever revert to a buzzcut. I think I may even have helpers to carry it out!) :) (So you know what you gotta do if you wanna live to a ripe old age...) ;) {wink}
Don't worry Carol, its not going anywhere, its my identity now, so you don't need to book that flight just yet!
Thanks for your kind comments, they are much appreciated.
Cheers, Dave
G'day Dave,
You have great hair with character and it just keeps getting better as it gets longer. It has stayed shaggy even at it's current length. It looks good in it's in it's natural unruly state.
I can picture you as dressed up in period costume as a Cavalier in the English Civil War period fighting against the short-haired puritanical Roundheads.
Duncan
Hey there Duncan, hope all is well over there and thanks for your comments.
You know I've always fancied a bit part in a period film or something, just mooching around in the background - I'm certainly no actor!!
Cheers Dave
