Hi guys!
I have to say i'm pleased to have come accross a site dedicated to guy's with long hair! I am a 23 year old male in the uk, I started growing my hair out when I was 16, and have had hair down just past my shoulders since I was 20!
Anyway, my question to you is, in the last few months or so, I have been finding lots of 'dead' hairs, they are silver, and shine, I get my hair cut on average, once every 6 months, just to have the ends trimmed, someone once told me that these are 'dead' hairs, but others tease me that I am going grey at a very early age!!! (I know that does happen)
I am reluctunt to think that i'm going grey, as I only find one hair here and there, and not lots of hairs confined to a certain area, as I imagine would be the case if I was going grey, are these 'dead' hairs?? or do I need to face up to the fact that i'm going grey very early!?!?
for the past 6 months, I have been under allot of stress, I had a very stressful job, and just before xmas I lost that job due to lay offs!! and still haven't found another one, which has caused more stress, could this be a factor?? and if so will the hairs stop 'dying' (or turning grey!) once my stress levels are reduced???
Any advice anyone can give will be much appreciated!!
Jamie.
Methinks you're getting some grey hair! Don't feel bad, I had my first grey hair when I was a mere lad of 18!!! By 25, I was at least 25% grey. Now I'm 39 and barely grey at all....thanks to the makers of fine hair colors!!!
Dead hair comes in all colors, not just grey. And going grey doesn't mean it'll be concentrated. Many people have grey hairs scattered about.
Don't fret! After all, tis better to have grey hair than no hair!
If it's any consolation they say if your hair turns grey it wont fall out
Ok, thanx for the responces!! I think i'll just have to get used to the fact that i'm going grey early.
Can anyone recommend a good product I can use to 'hide' from the grey hairs!? or, the other thing I was thinking, as the grey hairs all seem to be appearing on the side of my head, just above the ears, I thought about getting an undercut, i've been toying with the idea for awhile anyway, as i'd like my hair to look thinner and a bit tidyer, what do you reckon?? I know an undercut won't get rid of them but if they're shorter hairs they're less noticable, yes/no!?
well the undercut is your choice, but the grey would still be noticeable, i think your only bet to hide from them is to get it dyed really
