Hey everyone. My name's MD, I'm 16, and I just recently finished up my stint my baldness.
Now I know what you're thinking. Baldness? WTF? You're only 16. That's the complicated part, but the simple part is that I'm getting ready to grow my hair out again. Now, a couple of years ago I grew my hair to mid-back length not too long ago (about 2 and a half years ago to be precise) and then cut it out of boredom, as I was restricted from doing anything with it because of my (stupid) aunt.
But after I cut it, I got frustrated with hair all together and decided to shave my head. However, I grew out of that too and decided that the better course of action would be to grow my hair long and wild back to the way it was before!
Now I last shaved my head on December 27th, 2008 to get, what I thought, was an accurate time-line plotted out to determine the whole months-years thing (since last time I didn't actually keep track of it, just like I didn't really take care of my hair that well to begin with). I was a bit concerned about growing back out because of my high hairline (that most of my family has), and my seemingly bad hair loss, but then I saw a picture of Satoshi Kon.
And that pretty much cured any concerns I had. So starting on Tuesday, it'll be 1 Month of regrowth!
Thanks for having me guys, and the link above (or below, I'm not really sure) is what I looked like previously with the long hair.

Hi Dupin,
Personally I think it looks cool. Although it does look like you just got through head banging! lol.
I noticed your friends comments, don't worry, they'll get used to it. If they give you any problems check out my "Favorite Retorts to Get a Haircut and other remarks" blog for some good comebacks!
Good luck growing,
Paul
Hey! Your hair looked pretty awesome man! I'm 17 and this is my first time growing my hair out (Mom wouldn't let me before). Your friends will grow to love it, eventually. lol
Welcome MD, you had a nice head of hair before and will again. Just stay away for the scissors or in your case the razor, and you'll do fine. Remember if you get "bored" again, be certain to use the two week rule so that hairier head may prevail.
Bruce
Not to sound like a newby or anything, but what might the 2 week rule be?
Hi MD and welcome to the MLHH.
The 2 week rule is this, before you can cut your long hair off altogether (not counting any trims here) you have to fervently want to cut your hair off every time you see it or think of it for at least 2 weeks straight. If at any time during any of these 14 days you have any doubts whatsoever about losing the hair, you have to start the 14 day counter all over again!
So in effect you must be really ready to lose the hair before even making a hair cut appointment.
I am growing out for the 2nd time and before I cut my hair it was more than 2 months rule for me LOL
Hi MD,
That's a GREAT pic of you back in '07 with long hair, --- definitely a good reason to grow it back again!!
I once met a man who was COMPLETELY bald in front and on top; but, what hair he did have went all the way down to almost his KNEES, --- and it looked absolutely AWESOME!!! However, as anyone who is even remotely close to my age (I'm 55) will tell you, even guys with full heads of hair will recite how their hair is not as thick and as luxurious as it was during youth, --- so, in other word: DON'T WAIT, and grow your hair back NOW, while you're young!! You'll be glad you did.... just don't fall for that boredom trap again, that's all.
Take care, --- and Welcome to MLHH!

Welcome to the group. In ones teens it's normal to try different things with your hair and or appearance. I have a high hairline as well and you get used to it. I hope you don't get bored with it the second time around we would hate to watch you grow it out and see it vanish.

Keep growing and I'm sure you will love the results!
