Ive played the Worlds Football ( Soccer ) all my life, and let me tell ya. There's noway your hair stays in your shirt when your playin.
Maybe tied around yer head....
But that would just look silly

Better to tuck it inside the helmet (if they can get it in). That's what I'd do.

That is a Russian rubashka shirt. I like Russian folk music and dance and once visited the Soviet Union with a UC Berkeley affinity group.
This is a different shirt (and wig and moustache), but here I am dancing in a performance:
