Thought I'd update since it's been a long time (13 months since 12/27/07). Here are before and after from that date and today:
I've had three trims overall. Two were minor trims in February and May that I had done because my front hair, which curls in different directions, just wouldn't behave in a way that I felt comfortable going to work with. Both of these trims "worked," for what it's worth, although you can see that the hair in the front is shorter. The third trim I had in August which consisted of taking off about 3/4 inch straight across the bottom/back. I thought that this would even things up, but it did not work (the hair went from laying nicely to looking "bobbed"), and I would not recommend it! Oh well.
Anyhow, no more trims for me. In the past couple of months the hair has gotten to a length where it's much easier to care for, with the extra weight doing its part to keep it in place.
Thanks for looking,
Chris
Your hair looks really great man. Love that style. How long do you want to grow it?
Thanks! I'm looking for shoulder-blade or mid-back length.
Chris
Hi Chris. Your hair is coming along nicely. By the way, I wait till I reach my desired length before getting any more trims.
Matthew aka Regardless
Yes indeed! I've followed your hair progress on the board and it certainly looks good without any recent trims.
Take care,
Chris
Eh Trimmers!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL
Indeed steeling peoples lines! At least we have seen our own faces and not camera shy...giggle!
Sorry John as I couldn't help myself:)Have to admit it sure fit
the moment.
Mark
I have no idea what that was about. Are my pictures not showing up on your computer?
Chris
Not to worry Chris they are just ribbing you about the whole thing with Mick and his anonymity and his trimmers comment. It's taken on a life of its own and isn't really about you at all :)
Hi Chris,
Thank you for sharing your update with us, and your hair is progresing very well indeed. You are blessed with a great head of hair to grow super long, thick and with lots of shine, and a great beard as well. Of course, all of us on the hyperboard will be here to supoort you on your journey to long hair.
Keep it growing,
David
Thanks David for the great note. I really appreciate it.
Chris
Good and keep it growing and I'm sure our trimmers will be upsert....eh trimmers! But you don't have to worry I haven't missed my 12 minute standing appointment!
Cheers,
John.B
No worries on my part. But whatever, thanks for the encouragement.
Chris
That's quite an impressive change Chris. You're looking great, the longer hair really suits you. Hopefully you won't need to worry about trims for a long while now :)
Take care
Thanks Chris. I do feel that I'm beyond where I feel any urge to fiddle with the hair and just let it grow. I appreciate the note.
Chris
Hell yeah! Serious "before and after" pics!!!
I don't know if your going for the "all one length" look or not.
I did and when my hair got long enough to get in my eyes it bother the crap our of me. I know you've heard all the remedies since you been here so I won't repeat them. But now it's trained (from being in a tail at work) to go back over my head instead of hanging down in front so now it's never a problem.
I'm glad you hung in there and whatever style you decide on you've got my support.
Paul
Hi Paul,
Yeah, I'm basically going for the all-one-length. I'm definitely not looking to keep any one part of the hair shorter than the rest. Thanks and I appreciate the support.
Chris
...I mentioned the trims because to me, it looks/feels like I don't necessarily have what a year's growth would look like, especially right up front. I thought some explanation would be in order. I doubt I'll ever mention trimming again, for whatever that's worth.
Chris
You look awesome with long hair,Chris!Welcome to our board!
Thanks Rafael.
Chris,
You have a good head of hair. Keep it growing!
Mike
Thanks Mike. I don't know if I commented at the time you originally posted it, but that pic of you with the braid looks really cool. I'm looking forward to when I can do the same.
Chris
Great progress Chris and looks like you'll not need trims as you have good healthy hair.
Kevin
Thanks Kevin.
Chris
I like the new look. You look like one of those guys who do tournaments for Medieval Times theme retaurants. :) Sir Chris!
Thanks Carol! I hadn't even heard of that restaurant chain, so I looked it up. Sounds interesting, but too bad for me the closest appears to be in Chicago (about a 5-hour drive). Ohio's Ren Faire, on the other hand, is a short trip away.
Chris
Great looking head of hair!
Good progress for 13 months with trims.
- Oren
Thanks Oren, and that's good to hear. It sometimes feels like the growth is going rather slow, but until I compared the two pics I hadn't had a sense of how different it is already.
Chris
Lookin' good Chris!
Bruce
Thanks Bruce. This is so far down the board now...I appreciate your taking the time to look and comment.
