Yesterday i was with a friend of mine. He has long hair and we were talking and he said he needs to ask me something that may sound weird to me. The last time he had a haircut was a year and a half ago and they did a bad job. He showed her how long he wanted his hair to be but she cut about 2 inches more then he wanted and now he doesn't want to go to the barbershop again and asked me if i could cut his hair, cuz he trusts me. It is not weird that he asked me but since i never done anything like this before i have no idea how to do that. I have been on youtube to look for videos but all of them were so professional and i can't do it that way, or there are few that a womans hair is being cut with bangs in front or something like that. I searched the web a lot to find any guides how to do it but all i found were just written guides, no pics, i need pics so i can see how it's done. I am a little afraid i will cut it uneven and i will have to cut more off and in the end, i would cut too much off and i don't want to do that. I also don't want to just make a ponytail and cut the hair.
His hair is now the lenght as seen on the photo (this is not him, i got this pic from web and changed the lenght to match his) and he said he would like to cut off about 3 inches.
Does anybody have some step by step pics or a good video on how to trimm long hair? I would be realy gratefull cuz i want to make the best job possible and not disappoint him.
His current lenght
Try this link below, and be sure to use very sharp barber scissors so as to cut the ends cleanly.
Feye's Self-Trim
In this guide she has dry hair, but i have seen some with wet hair....what is better?
Is there any alternative to barbers scissors? I have been online and they cost quite a lot, and since i am probably going to do this only once or once, twice a year it is too much money. Like i said before, i want to do a good job, they just cost too much.
