We've had a bit of overnight snow here in the south of the UK and almost come to a halt...how feeble people over here are!

I can remember as a kid having snow for months, some people should try Scandinavia and they cope with it.

PS...off out to make me snow man!
They would laugh in Chicago among other places. I'm sure all of England must have only 2 snow plows.
Well John no doubt you'll be home from work so build your snowman
and make it a long haired snowman as well.
Don't forget the broomstick!
Cheers

Oh I wish I made it into the office! Still I can build one when I get home tonight, if I don't freeze up on the motorway in the mean time. I've got my spade, 10 layers of clothes and a weeks supply of food in the car.
Imagine if they closed O'Hare with a couple of inches of snow, the Daley dynasty would get it in the neck!
Cheers,

I'm 13, and I have never seen snow more than an inch or two in my life, and usually it turns sludgy, but it has set really well. I agree we're making a big deal over it, but I don't care - my school has closed for at least two days!
Well good for you and enjoy the couple of days of and don't forget to build a snowman.
More than just building snowmen. Make snowforts and build a pile of snowballs, then lodge snowballs from behind your snow fort walls. Make snow angels. Just lie down on your back in the snow, and makes a 'scissors' motion with arms and legs. When you stand up, you'll leave an angel impression in the snow. Go sledding and tobaggoning down a long snow-covered hill. You guys can even 'write' in the snow, with nice yellow cursive letters. :)
By the way, Seattlites can't cope either. Even if we only get a flurry, it is a major disruption for traffic and outdoor events since people often take it for granted that it will not snow in Seattle and end up getting caught by surprise. Not only that, we got massive snow earlier this winter, as much as 30 centimeters overall. Luckily, I did not have to go anywhere in that snow. In Seattle, we usually only get a few flurries during the winter, and snow like what we got earlier only occur once a decade or less.

Wow............snow in the UK. I had never even thought of that. Yes, do build that snowman and see if you can make him a longhair.
When I was a kid (Circa 1895) we used to pile-up tons of snow and turn it into a castle complete with moat. And I always fell in the moat infested snow-waters full of sharks! LOL :-)

It's the same in Alabama. Every time snow is even mentioned by the weather man they close the schools and everybody runs off to the stores to buy up stuff. Lol.
I was in Germany for two years, snow didn't seem to slow down anything.

That reminds me of how my university closed early last week for about 3 inches of snow. I loved it, although it did seem ridiculous to close for such a small amount of snow.
Do you make a mad run to the store, prior to the predicted snow, and clear the shelves of milk, bread and toilet paper, like many crazy Americans do??? ;)
You know up here in Wisconsin I always keep hidden away an
emergency package of toilet paper for just such an occasion.
After all Sears doesn't do catalogs anymore.
LOL
Kevin
No we are not quite that bad. It's not quite the end of the world lemming routine.
Mind you people do get that seige mentality and have numerous trolley loads when the shops are closed over the 2 days at xmas. Go figure!
Cheers,
John.
