I've considered growing long hair for a really long time, but I haven't done it. I've actually been shaving my head for several years, but I've finally decided I'm going to do it, and grow awesome long hair.
I have a few concerns though: My hair grows straight forward, and I'm afraid that when it gets long enough, it won't part, and just grow in front of my face, which obviously would be pretty lame. Can that happen?
Also, I've been BALD for a long time, and I haven't cut my hair, (which grows really fast,) for about 2 months now, and I have about an inch. Should I quite literally just stop cutting my hair? Or at a certain point should I trim the back to let the rest catch up, and avoid a mullet?
Thanks for the help!
Hi RyRob!
I've talked to people who shave their heads and from what they say, longhair is actually less maintenance. They shave their head every morning! lol.
From my avatar you can see that my hair goes sorta back over my head. It did not start like that. I "trained" it to grow that way from keeping it in a tail, usually when I'm at work. Besides, when it gets a little longer it'll part because it will actually weigh more.
As for mullets... I don't think you have to worry. It will grow over your ears as well as over your collar.
Just let it grow for as long as you can stand it then even it up. I would suggest getting a friend to do this because you really can't trust most stylist to only "trim" a little off, they generally like to chop off a few inches.
Hope this helps,
Paul
...and the occasional razor nick on the scalp - ouch!
Same here, I have trained my hair to grow towards my back.
I do the same with my mustache so that it does not grow into my mouth.
I have lost count of the salon horror stories posted here.
One men's stylist I would trust is our own Bruce aka "B.R.Gallagher".
That's nice.
No, it can't. It will naturally part and if it doesn't you can help a bit, hair always grows down.
I would like you to trim the back and the sides to catch the rest up because you will be more happy with your long hair if you haven't got any layers later as your hair gets longer.
That awkward stage is just for a few months.
Just it be. Once you get a few more inches then you can see if you need to even it out. You may find that you won't have to.
Good luck,
Bruce
Hey thanks guys, appreciate the advice!
That puts my concerns to rest, so the growing is definitely on! I'll post some pics when it gets longer
