i was just wondering if i should get this done. Im growing my hair long and my bangs are past my eyes a bit but are still poking them here and there and i dont like putting gel in them and i cant see sometimes. So i was wondering if feathering would fix this up, i know its from the 70's but i dont care. How you think it looks on men. Thanks Pick
Do it, I have mine feathered and like it.
Chris
anyone have a pic or know a place that has pictures of this done. Will i have to keep getting it done yearly or somthing or is it one of them one time only things, how does it look when it gets to my shoulders. Do they cutt much hair off, how do they do that.
feathering is done by cutting your hair the exact same distance from your scalp all over your head, so what happens is as your hair progresses down it falls longer, but really your hair is the same length at the top as it is at the bottom( or close to it),In longer styles the length is just longer but the same. Usually they cut the top layer and then pick up some down a bit match it with the top layer, comb it out flat and cut and continue on all down your head , when it does come time to grow out the layers it will take a long time for the top ones to reach the bottom ones. I would not recommend feathering, its just too much of a blast from the past, an undercut will grow out faster for you, not as far to go.
To anyone that is going to get this done please stop. I just got this done and its horrible, I lost a whole 2 months of growth thats one inch for me and its not even feathering back like it was suppose to, then the people lied to me and said "oh well at least we got the dead ends off so your hair will grow faster" never again is any cutting devise of any kind comming upon my hair. This is bullshit.
Lessons learned the hard way are remembered the best.
