Here is a cool image of my hair that I snapped a couple of days ago. It is impossible for me to do self portraits showing all of my mane due to extreme length. You can see my hair is a wide variety of textures and colours. I have never met another person in my entire life that has such a wide variety of hair types as I do.
Scott
Very cool Scott. similar to the hair vortex lol. Speaking of showers I know you wash your hair quite regulary due to oil production (I do too) how long does it take you to wash it normally? I only ask because you have 4 times the length of an average long hair length.
Awesome photo Scott

Hey Phil, I was inspired by Karsten to do creative hair images. He has done a lot of them over the years.
I actually wash my hair once every week or so. Due to great length, it takes maybe 30 minutes to wash it. I apply very small amounts of shampoo in multiple applications. This saves on how much shampoo I use. Basically lather rinse repeat 5 times in a row or more. Actually my hair is closer to 3 times that of the average long hair length. (Hair a few inches below the shoulders is maybe 12 to 14 inches long and mine is 36 to 42 inches long.) The longest measured shed strand is 45 1/4" long. I included an image of my hands free hair drying rig. Drying can take more than an hour.
Thanks for adding me to your friends list on MySpace.
Scott
Scott,
Thats one thick cord going up to yer hair dryer, looks like that line could power a Air Condiontioning unit?
I like the set up.
Genious powers ingenuity !
Steve
----------------------------------------------
Actually the cord is only 7 millimeters wide. Things in photos are not always what they seem. The cord was in the foreground in that image, making it appear much larger. It is 14 AWG 2 conductor wire.
Scott
Scott;
Great photo ! Really shows the thickness of your mane !
Pretty "artsy" too.
Thanks for Sharing
Walter

It is reasonably thick. There are guys here with hair twice as thick as mine.
My intent was to make the image have an original and creative look.
Scott
Hi Scott,
This is such a cool and artistic photo of your outstanding mane, and you are truly blessed to have the hair that you have, being the same age that I am!
Keep it growing,
David

A low testesterone count is likely why my hair grows so well at my age. It is 432. The reference range is 299 to 999. This graphically shows where I stand. Also good genetics helps too. My dad never went bald and lived to 98.
Karsten really inspired me to do artistic hair images.
Scott
I thought it was rain clouds that made it so dark and dreary over here, and now I realize it is your mane that is blowing across the bay and blocking the sun. Would you ponytail it already!
Hair shower, indeed! After the thunder and lightning, folks, you should see the dandruff!
Bill
----------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------
Yes my mane is quite long, but not that long.
The dandruff is an issue for me. Check out my keyboard.
Scott
Great photo, Scott. It really shows off your hair well. How about doing a self-portrait sometime using the self-timer? As long as you're standing up, it should show all of your hair.
-----------------------------------------------------
I will try that, after reading up on how to do it.
Scott
Beautiful, thick mane. Thanks for sharing this photo. Together with Hairfreaky you are my biggest hair inspiration.
herr k
------------------------------------------------
Thanks, it sure took a long time to grow it. It has been this length for quite awhile now.
Yes Hairfreaky has a gorgeous mane. He has posted at least once here on MLHH. I included a link to his post from the archive.

That certainly is a unique angle Scott, it really shows the colour range and texture well.
Cheers, Dave
---------------------------------------------
Thanks Dave, Karsten has been an inspiration for me to do creative hair images. As you can see, it does vary a lot. Most people have maybe 2 or 3 types of hair, I have dozens.
Scott
Scott, your hair always amazes me.I'd love to know what it feels like to have hair as long as yours and I hope its in me to accomplish that. You know many, many years ago when I would frequent this New Jersey rock club known as Birch Hill I remember this one guy who showed up every time I was there for shows that had hair down to his knees! It was a sight to see as I was such a piker at the time.I so miss those days when the guys in the audience all had longhair as short hairs were definately minorities at these shows:)Those were the days!
Mark
--------------------------------------------------
Hi Mark, hair brushing against the backs of my knees is an interesting sensation. It is probably as long as it will get, but I will try for a bit more length anyway. I hope you are doing well my friend and hope to meet you the nezt time you are out this way.
Scott
Wow Scott. Is that EVER magnificent.............and I LOVE the colours. Really neat! :-)
And to think, all 100% natural. What a gift from nature.
Take care Scott and so inspirational to see this posting.
Justin~
--------------------------------------------
Thanks Justin, you have one great mane as well. You are another longhair guru here that I would like to meet in person someday. Take care my friend.
Long hair forever.
Scott
Me too. That would be fun! :-)
Hope you are having a nice evening Scott.
Justin~
IMMENSLY STRONG SHOWER !! Scott . I agree with the others. Powerful and artistic rendition. I SAY THERE'S POWER IN THAT HAIR !! comin down from the heavens. Great shot brother.
Steve
----------------------------------------------
Thanks, Steve. I am going to try to post some more over the coming weeks.
Scott
Beautiful shot Scott!
I do have quite a diverse variety of hair types/colours in my beard. Not so much in my head hair.
- Oren
------------------------------------------
Thanks Oren. I will have to do some more creative hair shots. By the way, your hair and beard look great.
Scott
fabulous! and to think all that and no trims.
Kevin
--------------------------
You are right, Kevin. I have not had a trim in maybe 15 years. I have on rare occasion dusted a few split ends, and that is it.
Scott
Fantastic Scott.
So there you go trimmers!
Cheers,
John.B
Your hair is amazing and I really like this shot :)
Thanks, Vincent. I am trying to match Karsten's creative hair images. He is a tough act to follow.
Scott
Amazing hair Scott!!
Bruce
------------------------------------
I see your hair is looking great too Bruce. You have good length now.
Scott
Awsome pic man!!! Very dramatic, I think that should be your avatar.
Paul
----------------------------------------------
I just might do that Paul. This is what it would look like due to the requirement of being square.
Scott
This is an excellent photo, and I agree with Paul that it would make a great avatar. In my opinion, as a "square" avatar image, it would look a little better if you cropped out a bit more of your right shoulder and left in more of the hair.
Thanks for sharing!
--Val

Yes you are right, Val. I mulled over this prior to you posting this.

Very cool indeed Scoot. Cant wait until my hair is that long
Todd
--------------------------------------------
My hair is super long at over 3 feet, and is a good 18 inches past my waist. Being able to reach this kind of length is somewhat rare. As far as I know, most guys who don't have male pattern baldness, can, with patience, grow it to their waist. Extreme height can put waist length out of reach, but you are 5'10" tall which is only one inch taller than the average. You should be able to achieve waist length, which at your height, should take 4 or 5 years growing time.
Scott
Now, that's a lot of hair!
Lookin great!
jeffrey
------------------------------------------------
You are right Jeffrey. And there is a lot of hair past the camera lens that is not in that image. My hair is a lot longer than my arm can reach. Even so, I thought the image came out really good, and a lot of others here agree too.
Scott
Hi Scott. To me, your hair all look similar although I saw a few gray strands. As for me, I do notice some minor differences in my hair. I do have a few gray strands, plus, my hair exposed to the environment is lighter in color than my hair underneath.
Matthew
---------------------------------------------------
Hi Matthew, I have a huge variety of hair types. High magnification is necessary to show this.
I have a few coarse, mostly medium, and a few very fine hairs. The finest are only 40 microns.
I have a few curly, some wavy, and a lot of straight ones.
I have black, dark brown, brown, auburn, red, and blond.
Here I will show you. I will need to go to my shed hair box for reference. Good I found it.
Go on to the next post.
Here is the first closeup image of those shed hairs. You can see the variety. You would think those hairs shed from 10 different heads. They all came from mine.
Scott
Here is an image under LED light. It has better depth of field.
Scott
This image was done with a sheet of clear acrylic plastic laid on top of the hair to get more of it in focus.
