We're supposed to get a foot of snow in Jersey overnight. I am hoping I get a day off from work tomorrow! LOL
Well, this is what I look like nowadays, or rather, today.
I've really taken a liking to my newer, thicker, fuller beard. Though I admit, I tend to trim and style it, as opposed to letting it go unruly.
It would be my wish to try growing the beard until the top of my chest. However, not sure if that will ever be likely. Corporate America can only be so laid back :( Perhaps when I hit retirement. LOL
So what do you guys think?
Does the beard suit the hair, or should I trim it, or shave it?
Pending any employment issues, my new hair length goal is tailbone (that is right above the butt crack, yes?) That will be the limit for me though. Hell, let me make it to belt length at any rate. LOL
And I'll try my luck with the beard and see how long I can have it until someone says something :/
Dear gods, PLEASE KEEP THE BEARD!!! It looks really good on you, and the reddish hue is fantastic!
Mouse
Well hey Mouse,
Hadn't seen much of you around lately.
Paul
Yeah, I've been a littly too busy for my tastes, but that's life. I try to lurk regularly, but I often neglect to post.

Dear gods, PLEASE KEEP THE BEARD!!! It looks really good on you, and the reddish hue is fantastic!
Mouse
Why thank you Mouse. I had no idea you felt so strongly about it. Perhaps there are some Lord Of The Rings fantasies we have just tapped into? LOL
By the way, the reddish hue must be the lighting because I don't color my beard. Atleast not yet anyway. LOL
This is absolutely hilarious! Really, your beard does look very cool at this length.
The ruggad, bearded, Lord of the Rings look is definitely good. :-)
Man, you have some badass hair! I think the beard suits you perfectly just like it is.
I plan on letting my own beard grow longer once it starts turning gray.
Or maybe one of those big mustaches like the ancient Franks wore, lol.
Paul
Alex, you have a truly superb looking beard!
It goes perfect with your hair.
By all means, do keep it.

I think the bears looks really good now. It looks really good with the hair, and I hope you get to keep/lengthen it without too much trouble. Makes me glad I'll probably work in academia. Mad scientists tend to have no rules governing hair.
Waiting for decent facial hair,
-Christian Epp
Fantastic update, ATP... your hair looks awesome, and goes very well with the beard.

If you grow your beard about an inch longer, perhaps an inch and a half, you will notice a remarkable difference in how warm you will be. When your hair completely covers your neck 360 degrees all around, you will likely be able to shed one layer when outdoors.
If you ever go camping, you will find a beard of that length coupled with a long mane to be exquisite, because as you move around throughout the night, no cold air will leak down into your sleeping bag!

My goal for my hair is tailbone length as well. I prefer my beard trimmed relatively short, though, but it is nice to let it get long enough to be soft, rather than spiky, to the touch.
You know though, until I moved from England to the States I didn't even know that prejudice against beards existed, except as something out of the past that didn't happen anymore. Sure, I'd met with enough prejudice against long hair, but prejudice against beards was something that happened to my father's generation, but never to me or anyone I knew.
Even here in the US I have doubts that it's truly a real thing anymore, but I've met people who act as if it is. That is, the same people who wouldn't grow long hair because the're afraid it would affect their job prospects often also wouldn't grow a beard for the same reason. In England I'm sure it would never cross anyone's mind anymore that having a beard could affect their employment, and that it actually doesn't.
I think that even prejudice against long hair is not very common anymore, although there is no doubt atall that it is very real and does still happen, e.g. UPS and Texas school districts, for example.
I think the beard looks great. I don't remember what you look like without it, so it's hard to say whether you look better with or without the beard. How much snow did New Jersey get? In Maryland we got about 7 inches or so.

You have one of the most perfect beards I have ever seen Alexander. You definitely should keep it. Growing it longer (maybe 6 inches) will help protect you from the cold. I just can't understand how corporate America would seek to deny you a natural God given protection from the elements.
Far too large a percentage of people running corporate America were not picked from the brightest bulbs in the bunch. The current state of our economy (a depression) speaks for that.

Very Cool Beard. Always wished I could grow a thick even all over beard
