The back of my hair seems to be getting very long in comparison to the front. I have very thick loose curly hair and the back seems to be becoming very bulky.
This is kind of a bad pic as it was really rainy today and my hair got all big and frizzy... but you get the idea.
some pics.

I grew my hair out before from a buzz 2004 to the fall of 2007 with a bunch of trims but I think this is the longest it's ever been.
Haha I ended up growing it right back starting a month later. Big mistake but hey at least it's back now.
Eventually. I think we have similar hair types.
It looks great in the last picture, don't trim it, and if you really want to think about it first for a few weeks but in my opinion it doesn't look uneven at all!
Hi sol22,
You have some awesome looking hair there that has so much potential.I hope you grow it out this time for the long haul and skip the trims! Its funny how after someone cuts their hair they are right back at it regrowing shortly there after. Thanks for posting your pics my friend:)Cheers
Mark
Just let all grow "as-is" without any trims or cuts and in time your hair will even-itself out and look great!
I must agree with all of the others. Do not trim!
Curls For the Win!! :P
by the way, your hair goal is awesome. I think it will turn out beautifully
I must say, your hair is fantastic.....

First off, with hair as curly as yours, I'd say "even" is never going to be much more than a relative term for you. Even were you to pull every individual hair out straight and cut them to the same length, the curls are gonna do what they choose on a daily basis.
Also, I'm thinking you'd be better off waiting till you get to your goal length to worry about any trimming, other than the occasional "search and destroy" mission to get any split ends.
Hi sol22. You have lots of curls in your hair. But I suggest you leave the hair the way it is. Any kind of altering or trimming (including even up your ends) during the awkward phase of hair growth would only make it more difficult on maintaining your hair.
Matthew
i think your hair looks awesome. you have just hit the phase where it gets awkward, but it won't last much longer. give your hair a little more time and it will even out on it's own. :)
peace,
nic
Freaking awesome hair man.
If you start trimming at your length then you just going to set yourself back. Let it grow a while more first.
Paul
I had the same feeling that my hair was growing too fast in the back and wanted to let the front catch up. I trimmed about an inch across the back....BIG MISTAKE.
It gave my hair, which is wavy but not curly like yours, a really unfortunate "bobbed" appearance that I'm still living with (to some extent) six months later.
I'd say let it go.

I would agree leave them alone. Your ends don't look terribly uneven to me. If you had not posted about it I wouldn't have thought anything of it. In time they will just sort of even themselves out.
Kevin
I think the ayes have it with a majority of no votes.
Hell no. Your hair is too awesome to cut. XD;
...to get a better idea. I guess it looks fine. I'm not going to trim the back.
Hi Sol22,
First of all, welcome to the hyperboard, and thank you for sharing your outstanding update with us. You are blessed with thick and healthy curls, and my opinion is not to change anything, and it is not necessary to even up the ends at all. Be sure to keep those awesome curls growing!
Welcome aboard!
David
Thanks! Also, thanks to everyone who convinced me not to trim any yet... I also feared I might end up with a bob.
