Hello all, just a quick tail picture, I quite like it with the longer length. As I have said before, I'm not a big fan of my tail but I have to say that now my hair length has increased it has become more and more necessary, more and more of the time.
The dilema of course is to a) cut ones hair back to a 'manageable length' or b) keep it restrained more and more and miss out on the long hair experience much of the time.
Buffs are not really appropriate at work so thats not an option.
Anyway here it is.
Regards to all
~Dave
I agree with you there Dave, don't much care for the ponytails myself, but they do serve a purpose sometimes. Nice length in the hair.
Frank
Hi Frank, yes I remember you have reservations with your tail, but they are very handy at times, and as length increases they become more impressive looking I guess.
Thanks for your comments.
~ Dave
Awesome hair Dave!! I actually think that the tail looks good-I like the different natural highlights you have.
Keep it growing brother!
VJ
Thanks VJ, I like the highlights too.
~ Dave
Wonderful tail Dave!
peace, jonalbear
Thanks JonalBear, I hope everything is well with you out there :-)
~ Dave
OMG Dave. That is magnificent! I had no idea and did that 3 years ever go by so fast. Of course, I well know about the managable aspect, but still, that is killer gorgeous long hair and it is little wonder that you are so happy that you decided to grow it out.
Thanks for posting this. If nothing else, the ultimate of inspiration for those wishing to attain a very long tail.
Justin~
Thankyou Justin, you are too kind sir, yes three years has flown by but it has been fun and with the support of MLHH it has been a breeze really!
Have a great day, Dave
That's some serious length Dave! I know what you mean about it being harder to wear it loose but I think it's well worth it to attain the longer length. Have you ever tried braiding it?
Hi, thanks Jason, yes I have braided it, but surprisingly (as I have thick hair), it came out really thin looking, and being so used to the thick wild look I didn't like it too much.
cheers Dave
Did you just run into that brick wall? or are you making love to it? HA!
Your hair is incredible ! That is really an amazing length tail for three years, particularly for curly hair!! And of course as your biggest fan you know I am fond of the casual and natural nature in which you keep it.
I am extremely jealous !! Thanks for Sharing !!
Walter
Hahaha, you know Walter, looking at it with fresh eyes, yes it does look odd, but I am trying to take a picture and show the back with one arm!!
Thanks for your kind response, I am a huge fan of Walter too, he's a really cool guy ;-)

You have a chaotic hair growth pattern which is most unusual, Dave. Probably fewer than 1 in 1000 people have this. Your type of hair probably looks best when worn loose. In the real world, keeping it loose is not always practical or appropriate.
As you can clearly see, it ties into a chaotic tail with hair going in every direction. Even so, tailing it when necessary is much better than cutting it back. Keep it growing for sure.
Scott
Hi Scott, yeah my hair is erratic and chaotic for sure, but I love it, and there is no way that I would cut it, just need to learn how to manage it, its part of my lifestyle.
Hope you have a great evening,
~ Dave
Hi Dave,
What a fabulously long ponytail for only 3 years of growing, and be sure to keep it growing! Just imagine where you will be by this time next year. Like you, I wear my hair in a ponytail when doing some physical activities, but do like to wear it loose most of the time.
Take care,
David
Hello David, Thankyou for your kind reply, I hope you are well, and send my best to Tammy.
warm regards, Dave
thats awesome brother! long ass pony tail that rules man! :)
btw I got into Motorhead myself man some true badass tunes I have to say!!! \m/
Hey thanks Mark, yeah the 'ead are ace, I go to see them every year, bless 'em they are legends. Take care mate and keep that awesome mane growing.
Peace and rock
~ Dave
So long ! I didn't think your tail was so long : )No solution for your problem, sorry. I use to wear my hair up, most of the time.
bye
Vivien
Hi Vivien, yes it has got long, when you say you wear your hair up, do you mean a bun? do you have a picture.
Cheers mate, Dave
Hey Dave, your tail is looking superb...you must feel great about it. Congrats on your achievement. Keep it growing for sure.
Cheers,
Maxie-babes.
Hello there Maxie-babes, thanks for the comments and also thanks for reminding me how great Buffs are, I haven't used mine over the winter, I tend to find them really great in the summer though, and have just ordered another in Coolmax with UV protection, I loove 'em.
Take care big buddy
~ Dave
That is quite some lenght for 3 years of curly hair.
Though decision, I don't know what I would do.
Thanks Vincent, there is no chance of a trim, that was more of a hypothetical comment, I need to find a way of living life 'with' my hair.
~ Dave
I know the feeling, I'm wearing it tailed more and more to keep it neat but I would rather wear it down all day. But that just not practical. I try to wear my hair down as much as I can.
Well I vote keep it restrained and growing. It looks very good so I wouldn't mess with it.
Looking good Dave
Kevin
Thanks Kevin, there's no question that I will keep it growing, I just need to be able to manage it successfully - and I WILL :-))
~ Dave
Hey Dave. The pony tail is looking incredible. Your hair is growing by leaps and bounds. It is funny how the longer your hair gets, the more you need to put it in a tail a lot of the time. It is worth it, as your hair really looks awesome in the pictures where you have it wild and free. Keep it growing!
Del
Thanks Del, always great to hear from you, looking forward to one of your entertaining postings soon!!
~ cheers Dave
Hey, Dave.
Well, there's no denying it, your hair has gotten to be a mane to admire. You've achieved some great, great length in only three years. The tail looks good and I'm sure it's useful to have a tail in sometimes. Sure is for me, especially on those damn windy days!
Hegg
Thanks a lot for your comments Hegg, I actually like the windy days with my hair loose.
~ Dave
Hey Davie!!
Wow,that's an incredible tail!I know you are not fond of tailing your hair but yours certainly is to die for.Yea, that's the dilemma once your hair gets really long as I'm in the same boat.I rarely go outdoors with my hair loose as it would be too much of a hassle dealing with it blowing around and such.In a way I too miss out on the longhair experience because of that but at least indoors its not an issue. For me it would be hard to part with my length as I just love it so much.Such decisions.Anyway great pic my friend and as the saying goes...Keep it growing and flowing:)Cheers buddy
Mark
Hi there Markie-babes, yes you are quite right, to come this far and lose length is not an option, its just a case of management really.
Thanks for your positive comments as always my friend.
Cheers Dave
Dave, that tail sure tells a tale :-)
You've come a long way. The tail looks great on you.
Agreed - At this kind of length, I like to keep my hair tailed with one or multiple hair ties most of the time.
- Oren
Hi Oren, great to hear from you, and thanks for the comments.
Hope you are well,
~ Dave
Hi Dave. A nice looking tail and I like the curls. What is a buff, by the way? One definition of buff is making an ob ject shiny.
Matthew
Hi Matthew, thanks for your comments. A Buff is a piece of headwear that can be worn as a beanie, bandana, headband etc etc, you should try them.

Hmmm... a or b.
Ok, my vote = a.
Cool hair dave,
Paul
That surprises me Paul, I thought you would be a 'b'
Do you ever wear your hair in a tail?
cheers Dave
Just seeing if you were paying attention Dave, of course don't cut your hair!
Wear it in a tail. I do, everyday for work I put it up so it won't get in my face during the day. Also it helps with the old fuddy duddys down here, lol. Any other time, I wear it down.
Paul
Amazing hair, mate. That's great growth for three years.
I suppose one possible option for you would be a half tail, braided half tail or a Legolas braid. That would keep it a bit more restrained and looking neat while still allowing you to have the rest of it loose down your back.
Thanks Viking, yes I ought to try that style it may work well for me.
Thanks again, Dave
Hey Dave, looking good! And I agree; as it gets longer a tail is required more and more.
Hi George, you and I are at the same in growing time, so I guess the issues I have you are having aswell, cool :-)
~ Dave
Looks awesome, and VERY similar to my hair...are you forming any dreads? Mine began from wearing my hair in a bun everyday (w/the same texture hair as yours).
Cool hair man : )
Hi Friction, yeah it does self dread, I really like them though as I am a fan of the dread look but don't want to go the whole hog with it, so its a good compromise.
Thanks for your positive vibes.
~ Dave
Hey Dave! First off, excellent post...great length on your hair man. Looks as fashionably messy and rockerish as always!
I'm with you on the tailing situation. I hate how I look with one and I know you and I both never really bothered wearing one at work. But I'm also at a length where I feel the need to tie it back so I might as well start liking it haha.
Great hearing from you Dave.
-Phil
Hi Phil. thanks for your comments mate, I must admit I tend to wear Buffs as much as possible or wear it loose. Just one of them things I guess!!
Take care dude,
Dave
Looks good, Dave. I know just what you mean about the necessity factor. I find myself tying mine back many times I'd just as soon leave it loose, but sometimes you gotta do something with it to keep it out of the way.
Jim
Absolutely JSF, its almost a shame when one has a great mane, but the times we are able to let it blow free makes up for it :-)
Cheers Dave
I like how you manage to keep some texture on the top of your head even as you pull it back.
For what it's worth, I think one should make the decision between (a) and (b) based on how long you want it when it's loose. Even having to wear it tied back more, I think you'll be more satisfied if it's the length you really want, overall.
Chris
Hey Dave
Looks really good but I understand what you mean about having to decide at what length you can most enjoy the hair. I am not sure to what length I will grow mine out this time.
Looks good to everybody else though, even with the tail, very cool!
Take care mate
