Hello gentlemen (and ladies) I found this forum a few months ago and have been somewhat lurking ever since. I'd stop by and read a few post but then I wouldn't stop by again for a few weeks, then I'd come back and read a few posts again and so on. Well, I've finally decided to make my presence know to everyone here and tell you a little bit about my long hair journey and where I'd like to go from here. The last time my hair was cut was, uh, well, it was sometime last century. If I remember correctly (which I don't know if I do) I think is was the first part of 1998 like about March or possibly early April. But even at that point is was only cut short enough to get my hair off of my shoulders. During the time since (and years prior as well) I've never really taken good care of my hair. Just the normal shampoo and brush like any short haired guy would who isn't treating his hair like it will be there for very long. In spite of me being rough on my hair it still grew to fall just below my shoulderblades. I used to either just keep it loose or just put it into a single tie pony tail. But recently, I've change to either a four or five tie pony tail or a braid most of the time to prevent damage because my hair tends to tangle very easily. I've done some changes in how I was treating my hair now with an emphasis on damage prevention. Changed the way I was brushing my hair, reduced shampoo usage and increased conditioner usage. I can feel the quality of my hair changing every day as I feel my hair through my hands. I've already noticed that my hair doesn't tangle as much as it used to when I've left it loose. I would like to get another foot out of my hair in the next few years, but I know in my case it has nothing to do with hair growth, and everything to do with hair health. Well I think this first post is long enough, I'll just cut it short right here. (maybe that was bad terminology)

Welcome man...
Sounds like you got some great length there. I've also recently started taking better care of my hair. Not brushing so hard or dragging my fingers through it. Also changed shampoo, feels much better now.
Thanks for the welcome.
Yes, I admit I have some great length inspite of not being careful with it for so many years. Yet I've got a friend whose hair I am truly envious of, he's got a little over a foot more length than I do so his goes down below his tailbone by about 3 inches. Really great hair. My hopes is to match his length sometime in the future.

Wow... thats looooooong. I think the most i would go would be just below shoulders but when it gets there i don't know if i'd be able to trim. But i wanna lock my hair at some stage so when i do that i doubt i'll ever cut my hair. I realy do feel my hairs my strength
As I stated in my opening post, my hair hasn't been cut since the 90's, that's just because I just couldn't bring myself to even give it a simple trim. Nope. Not gonna do it. I imagine it might cause me some phycoligical issues if my hair was to get cut at this stage. My hair has alot to do with my identity now, well pretty much always has but since it hasn't been cut for so long even the more now than before.
