It is my belief that Creator wants humans to let their hair grow long so that as it naturally falls out it becomes prime nesting material for the birds.
Spring is upon us in some areas, and soon will be in the rest. If you want to have some joy and pleasure with your long hair try this.
When you brush or comb it out save the hair in a container. When you have a bunch saved up put it outdoors where the birds can see it and safely get to it. If you want to be extra kind toss in the lint from your clothes dryer too.
Pay attention as spring progresses. You'll soon see bird nests woven together with the hair you donated.
Cute, but if you really thing that the "creator" wants us to have long hair for birds nests.. well i wont say anythign bad..
One of the main ingrediants that birds make their nests of is mammal fur, I save my brushings from the cat for a few weeks and throw them out in the bushes, makes great insulation for them. I don't think human hair is as appropriate, but as long as your neighbours don't mind big wads of hair falling on their cars and such and blowing around in the wind, go for it lol.
If you don't live near trees don't bother as there will be no birds nesting around you.
Well, actually the birds use the hair to weave the sticks and grass of their nest together. Discovered this accidently a few years back. I often just tossed hair that was stuck to my car seat out of the car where my parking spot was. One spring I noticed a birds nest on the girder above my car. It had my hair holding the outer sticks together. The inside was lined with the usual soft fluffy stuff.
Great idea to add cat hair brushings too.
