Hello, I am still growing out my hair, trying to get it back to the lenght it used to be a few years ago, If you've read previous posts youll know why. Any how the first time around I wasn't too gentle or caring for my hair, but learned how to while I still had it really long last time. I try now to be very gentle when washing and when combing/brushing out. I brush it once in the morning, and once at night. Detangle with fingers first. I don't pull hard, and I start at the ends and work up. Usually a little hair comes out, around 5-10 long hairs and about the same shorter hairs maybe more. And some times a few just apear on my shoulders and back during the day. But after washing my hair gently no matter how carefull I am more hairs come out. About 4 times more. How can I keep that amount less, and why Do more come out after washing my hair. I wash it about once a week. Is there anything I'm missing ?
the human head loses 60-100 hairs a day, you just notice them more when its long, don't fret! if everyday 50 fall out and every day 50 start growing it all balances out. The very same thing bothered me alot when I first grew my hair too. You can try sleeping on a silk or satin pillow case, you will find that is wonderful for your hair, if you toss and turn at night it will cut down on the friction from the rubbing on the pillow case.
I also find that if I put my hair in a tail, it's less likely to get all frazzled looking when I wake up... :) I usually do a high ponytail, so it will be less likely to get caught between the mattress and my back.

Dont worry about that!! There must be literally billions of hairs that grow and get replaced constantly. Its not like you will be bald in a couple of years and your shower plug is full of hair, its fine and normal. Just dont yank it out through a knot of hair.
