I'm some of you may of heard the latest news on joaquins career. He walked away from a rising and fantastic acting career to purse his love for music, and well in the process has decided to become longhair.........
Well here's before
Well that's good for him and not let tinsel towne rule the length of his hair!
and here's after. He's been getting allot of stick from the media after taking his journey into music. One for his appearance and has been publicly ridiculed for this many times. Also he seems to of dabbled a little bit heavy on the silly stuff to as he can make up his own rules now instead of a director. I still support him and think he's damn cool. After all nobody owns him, so who are they to critise. We all have faults.
LET IT GROW BROTHER....
It is amazing to see how different he can look. Here is a shot of him in "Gladiator" as an emperor.
-hope this works uploading.

And here as Johnny Cash
Amazing transformation and I couldn't agree more with:
Thank you for sharing this with all of us.

I can understand the media's scrutiny. Does he think that if he looks like Matisyahu his career as a white rapper will be as successful as his? I'm all for beards and long hair, but he, unfortunately, looks very unkempt with his hair and beard. Maybe trim the beard and brush the hair and he'd be able to pull the look off much better. Sure we all have our faults, but he is asking to be mocked when he's in the spotlight doing interviews while looking like he is. I see rehab and cleaning himself up for a "triumphant" return to acting.
Hi Garth,
Fancy a wager that he will be back in tinsel town within a year...cleaned up!
Cheers,

That is one theory. That it is a performance art character he created for a documentary that he is currently doing.
Also, glad I'm not the only one who thinks he looks 'bad'.
If he styled and trimmed it a bit (the beard), wouldn't be so bad.
I don't think the media is ridiculing his 'rapping' as much as his appearance though. Granted, his rapping ain't great, but his appearance doesn't help matters.
I still think it's just a big joke, I think he just wants to mess with everyone
Whether its for real or not, I like the unkept look.

One of my favorite Joaquin Phoenix movies is "Clay Pigeons", 1998 (along the lines of FARGO) where his hair was in the shaggy stage.
His "career move" into rap music is a bit disappointing to say the least (He recently fell off a stage in Las Vegas...). A couple of his appearances have ended in violence and his interview with David Letterman (link below)is bizarre.....Letterman's closing line is hysterical....
Enjoy
Late show with (?) Joaquin Phoenix
