Well, it's been about 8 months since I was bald. I'm actually really enjoying what so many people refer to as the "awkward stage." I had forgotten how great it feels to have enough hair for the wind to grab onto when the weather gets blustery! Three or four times a day I brush my hair, just because it feels good. Other than that, I just wash and condition it every couple of days, and don't worry about it. A full year's worth of growth seems just around the corner.

Nice growth considering you were starting out bald. You have a really positive attitude too and seem to be confident that you will be reaching desired length eventually. That's a good mentality; haha, I catch myself going from day-to-day wondering if I will somehow reach goal length, not sure that I certainly will, so I should work on that.

Thanks for the positive feedback, Jeshua. I believe achieving and maintaining a positive attitude is crucial to enjoying any lengthy or difficult process of change, including the growing out of one's hair. I've decided to just have fun with the journey. "Don't sweat the petty things; don't pet the sweaty things." I am confident that I will reach my initial goal of not even trimming my hair before June, 2010, and my eventual goal of one day having hair that reaches the bottoms of my shoulder blades.

Hey, thanks a lot Mark! My short-term goal is to remain absolutely trim-free until at least June, 2010, and thereafter unless truly necessary. My long-term hair length goal is to grow it to the bottoms of my shoulder blades.

Your encouraging words are much appreciated, David. I do feel fortunate to have thick hair... all I really need to reach my goal length is time (although the inspiration and motivation I get from the MLHH is a big help, too!).
