Hi all,
Here I am again, presenting another video I made of my hair. It is now practically at knee length, but getting very thin at the ends. Therefore I will keep my hair at this length.
I have a question: does this hairstyle with many rubber bands have a name in English? Or if not, how would you describe it? It is in fact my favourite hair style, but I don't know how to call it...
Here is the link:
Swinging my long hair
Hi, Hairfreaky.
Great length, great hair, looks awesome.
For your question: Yes. In English we call it a segmented pony tail.
Take care.
Thanks!
Glad to know that it's called a segmented pony tail, I'll add it to the video description
Yet another great video update....In English, that style is usually referred to as a segmented ponytail. I am assuming that you are using covered hair ties and NOT rubberbands which can be very damaging to hair.
Thanks for Sharing

Thanks for your comment. You are absolutely right! I use covered hair ties without metal. Of course I would NEVER use rubber bands, I just couldn't think of the right word.
Hey !
Really wonderful mane ! I don't found your ends as thin as you described (my ends are as thin as yours at waist length, but I haven't trim in 4 years).
A tail like that must have a considerable weight, no ?
Vivien
Thanks for that!
Well, I suppose hair doesn't weigh that much... but of course the hair ties make the tail a little heavier. Still, somehow a bun feels heavier to me
Hey Hairfreaky. As always your hair looks incredible. It looks like a long blonde snake as it wraps around your neck. The length is amazing. I like it when your hair is free and loose, but the segmented tail is cool.
Del
I recently had a snake around my neck in Morocco, maybe that gave me the idea ;)
I prefer my hair loose esthetically speaking, but since it is rather unpracticle and dangerous, this seems to me the safest style that allows the length to be seen
Absolutely beautiful long hair. I love how you can wrap it around your neck like that. Please re-think the idea of keeping it at that length. It would be a shame to do so if it will continue to grow longer.
Thanks! Well, it all depends on how my hair looks, if it really doesn't get much thinner I may grow it a little longer, but maybe that's not realistic. We'll see...
Hairfreaky, Let it grow, Let it flow!
peace, jonalbear
I'll keep that in mind lol!
Hi Hairfreaky, great to see ya posting again!Very cool vid of your tremendous segmented tail as it looks like a lethal weapon the way you sling it around like that:)And the grand finale of it ending in that cool dog collar just compliments the length you have achieved. Now see all you trimmers you can have hair like this if you throw the scissors overboard!Cheers my friend:)
Mark
Amen to that :-)
Hi Mark, I like the idea of the lethal weapon, haha! Hey, if you feel like it, do leave a comment on Youtube! (or give a rating...) Anyway, thanks for your great comment here :)
That's a lot of segments. We simply call this a segmented ponytail. No need to carry a whip, since you can use your very own ponytail. With your hair getting thin near the ends, you have probably reached (or about to reach) terminal length.
Matthew
Hi Matthew, yes, I'm probably approaching terminal length. Too bad, but I guess I shouldn't complain ;)

Hi Oren,
Wow, does that bring back memories!I definately remember that dude when lurking on this site way before I joined. The clincher was the one with the segmented tail wrapped around his neck just like Hairfreaky did in his vid. Thanks for bring back that great group of pics for the good ole days:)Cheers
Mark
Hi Oren, I knew the pictures in the first link, I think they were even the pictures that gave my the idea to try that style at the time. I can't believe my hair is now even longer than his... I didn't know the picture of the tail around his neck though! Very funny that he had the same idea. Thank you for drawing my attention to it!

Your hair looks great, Peppyn. I like that video. I really liked the way you spun around and got it to wrap perfectly around your neck. It took a few tries, but you got it to wrap perfectly at least once.
Your hair looks very similar to mine, and tapers to thin at the end of the long tail. I keep my hair in a segmented tail too. My hair is way too fragile and fine (only 65 microns) to have loose for more than a short period of time. (Average hair is 75 to 80 microns.) I found some soft cloth hair ties in rainbow colours. They were difficult to find. These would look great on your hair too, if you can find them where you live.
I included an image showing my hair loose and with the rainbow ties.
If you want to, ahead and add me as a friend on MySpace.
Scott
Hi Scott, I wear my hair in a segmented tail because it is safe and allows the length to be seen at the same time. I am no fan of braids on myself. I also wear the soft cloth hair ties. I found them recently and wouldn't want to wear anything else anymore.
By the way, I wrapped the tail around my neck in one try! Maybe it didn't come across well, but first I was just spinning the tail around my body, then I was helicoptering, then I wrapped it around my neck...
As for Myspace, I don't really use it. I had it to share some hair pictures, but that was mainly before I did the videos. I'll gladly add you nonethelesss if I can find you.
Cool video dude! Your hair looks just like mine if I had about seven more segments of length lol. Thats actually the style I wear everyday to work with gel for the part that is actually on my head. Usually the only time I wear it out is when I perform with my bands
so let's see, at two segments per year that's 3 1/2 years to go lol!

Great job calculating Hairfreaky! I love it! I am looking forward to those three and a half years of growing Yesssssss

I just call it a segmented pony tail
