Let's see, mid-July of 2003 'til now, so that makes this about a 68.5 month update...
Sorry for the fuzziness, but you can only do so much with the "over-the-shoulder camera shot in the mirror" trick.
As a side bonus, there's somewhat of a closeup of part of my hair on the left side of the picture.
Hi Jim, Thanks for the update and wow that's amazing hair growth there and didn't realise it was that long and in good condition to. Don't stop there and keep it growing. The picture quality is fine.
Cheers,
John.B
I think its a cool shot, it shows well your amazing mane from different angles and perspectives all at once, looks fantastic JSFrodo.
cheers Dave
Wow.......I had no idea your hair was this far advanced. Great job.
Now THAT is long hair!
Hey JS...wow! Great update. You have a superb mane...congrats on your outstanding achievement. Hope you are doing well.
Cheers,
Max

I had no idea that your hair is classic length. Guys with waist length and beyond are truly a rare group, there aren't many of us out there, even amongst longhairs. In addition, it is really thick. My guess is that your ponytail right at the hair tie would be about the diameter of a golf ball. (Mine is a more modest diameter, about that of a US nickel.)
That is a fantastic update, keep it growing for sure. You should be good for at least knee length. Finally, some blurring in the image is unavoidable. You are focusing near and far and in a mirror which is not optically perfect.
Scott
Hi Jim
That's a long thick mane you have going and I wouldn't stop there.
For the old photo in the mirror shot you did well.
Excellent update we like these updates no talk of cutting for a job anywhere.
Kevin
I had no idea that your hair was that long ! Incredible !
Great Update....Thanks for Sharing

Hi JSFrodo,
What a fantastic update, and I cannot get over how THICK your hair is, right to the ends! You should be able to grow it a lot longer!
Keep it growing,
David
Your hair is nothing short of breathtaking as the length, thickness all the way down, and great colour are a true inspiration.I'd love to see your mane grow as long as Hairfreaky's as wouldn't that be something:)Thanks for sharing your very well done update my friend.Cheers!!
Mark
Very, very impressive! It's incredible how thick your hair stays for such a long length. Very inspirational too!
Seeing as many of the comments so far were similar, I figured I'd avoid repeating myself by responding in one big batch.
Thanks to all for the kind words, of course.
As far as the length goes, I had thought I'd pretty much hit terminal at just barely past belt-length, so I was pleasantly surprised recently to note that it has made it a decent bit lower on my backside. Don't have any current plans for length, so it's just growing as it chooses to do [grin].
For Scott, using a broken hair-tie as a measuring tool after getting it into a pony-tail, I've estimated the diameter at the tie of about 1.2 inches (3cm for our metric friends). That's still a bit smaller than your average golf ball, but bigger around than a quarter (the biggest coin I had handy for comparison).
holy cow. your hair is THICK!! you must keep it tied back a lot. looks nice! :)
peace,
nic
Thanks. :D Yeah, I do end up tying it back a fair amount, but I try to keep it loose as much as I can.
Hi Jim. Your hair and the photo quality looks nice to me. I believed that you have reached terminal length.
Matthew
That's what I thought about six months ago, but it's picked up a few more inches, so who knows? Thanks for the comment.
that is really impressive! super long and super great looking my hats off to ya sir :)
Thanks, Mark :D
Truly a stunning and beautiful mane Jim!
It'll be 60 months for me this June.
Thanks for the update!
- Oren
Wow, great update, man... I didn't realize how long your hair was! Thanks for sharing.
--Val
Your hair is amazing, didn't knew it was so long.
I also like the thickness.
Fantastic update Jim.
You have truly amazing thickness and color. It doesn't look like you're at terminal length yet either...your ends are not tappered or fine at all from this photo. Are you just gonna let it keep going? Great update, great mane.
-Phil
Thanks, Phil. Not sure what length I'm gonna go for. For the most part I'm probably going to just let it grow as it chooses, although it's starting into a stage where it's becoming much easier to get caught up in things. For example, the other night as I was getting out of bed I set my elbow onto part of my hair and proceeded to pull my own hair. It's almost long enough where I have to worry about sitting on it. Scott has mentioned a couple of times about keeping his tied in a segmented tail most of the time to avoid such problems, but I like to have it loose as much as possible. If I had to keep it tied back most of the time I'm not sure it would still be worth it, at least for me. But no immediate plans to change anything, so we'll see how I feel in another few months or so.
"I'm probably going to just let it grow as it chooses"
That's what we like to hear! lol.
Awesome Jim and I COMPLETELY agree, what's the point of having long hair if you cant enjoy it. I hate wearing mine in a tail; I also don't look good with it tied back (my personal opinion hah). Mine is a nipple length and I never wear it back, not even for work lol and it actually hasn't affected anything as far as my job/opportunity goes.
Great update Jim,
-Phil
Jim... Your hair is totally FANTASTIC - PLEASE do'nt cut it - I think you must be used to it being that long now so letting it get to your thighs shouldnt be a problem should it ??
Any pics would be Great !! Steve
Wow that's a lotta hair! I don't remember seeing a back shot of yours before. Really fantastic color and texture (and length of course!). Congratulations on such a great mane!
