I've been growing my hair out for the past four years due to film obligations. Over the years I have spent a great amout of time part anticipating my next haircut, thinking how I needed to get back to how I use to look.
Lately I've come to realize my new long hair persona has become far more successful than the old short hair me ever was. I have now stopped looking forward to my next haircut and have begun looking forward to even longer hair.
Currently my hair is mid back in length. I'm toying

successfully growing it super long. Having it loose will become increasingly problematic. Braiding or multiple ties work well to contain it.
Here is an image, showing my knee length hair loose and with protective multiple ties on it.
Be aware that common household objects can catch on you hair. I have a real problem with door knobs. You will also have to be careful not to sit on your hair. This is a problem for me too. You will need to know where your hair is at all times to avoid mishaps.
My hair is quite fine and fragile, and yet, I grew it super long by protecting it well.
