why when i see people like this i get envy inside because he gots long hair and i dont. And it looks so good too. Man I cant wait to have long hair, i think of it every day. I think I have a problem, I WANT LONG HAIR. My hair is a little pasts my ears and my bangs are almost touching my upper lip. I really dont know what came over me in the last couple of months but I really need long hair. I just cant wait no longer. Its driving me insane. What can I do to calm my self, im in school in class thinking about it when its flipped into my eyes. I cant stop thinking about it. I also think im to carefull like with it to, im constantly scared of loosing one or two hairs. If one hair falls out i feel like somthing is going to no grow or somthing, I just really dont know whats going on with me. All i can say is I WANT LONG HAIR. Im 17 now and i dont think im ever going to cut it and am going to have beyond floor length.

From the sound of it you are going to love and love and love it like crazy for the rest of your life ! And it's the greatest feeling of all believe me !! :-)
Right now though I think you have to first understand then accept that it's for real and probably never going to go away for the rest of your life....it's just the same for most of us here too. So you see you definitely do NOT have a problem, also there's nothing to be afraid of, worried about or ashamed of either as pretty soon you'll realise it'll probably turn out to be the best and most constant 'friend' you will ever have. It is mine I know. So start enjoying your new feelings !!
Finally one day you'll look back when you're sitting on your very own hair and say "Man !! did I really post all that stuff !! lol :-)
And wow ! I think your pic is fantastic, he's got beautiful hair and it's my favourite style....one of the best examples I've seen for a long time :-) Nice one !!

He's great. Did you (or anybody) see him in the movie "Rock Star"? That movie has a lot of great hair in it (even though most of it's fake). A couple friends of mine (Jeff Pilson, formerly of Dokken and Blas Elias of Slaughter) were in it and even though Zakk always wears his hair long, Blas was the only one in the entire cast who didn't need extensions for the movie. Interesting, huh?

I know exactly what you mean!! Im 17 too and ive got the stage of peopls laughing at me and calling my "mullet boy" and stuff, but i will not let them drive me to get it cut again like last time...

Hang in there dude, you have many years in front of you, your hair will get to the desired length you want, all "GOOD" things, such as long hair come with time.
When I was in high school, I graduated in 1969, I too wanted long,long. long hair, my parents did not appreciate my desire that much, and shortly after high school, I was drafted into the Army, this was Vietnam.....
After faithfully serving my country, and receiving an Honorable Discharge, I started working in retail, I grew my hair halfway down my back, took many years, with hair rate growth of about a half an inch every month, and worked my way into management, the further up the management chain I got, the demands for me to cut my hair became -:: either get a hair cut, or find another place to work ::, well, my son was only a few months old, I did the "RIGHT" thing and got a haircut. (Looking back on it, I should have kept my hair and changed jobs then)
Now my son is 26 years old, and lives in the San Francisco Bay area in California and has a great job @ UC@Berkely, and I live in Western New York State, my wife and I are separated, and I have grown my hair back, got a different job, and now my life is my own. ALL GOOD THINGS COME IN TIME, I NOW HAVE MY LONG HAIR, AND GROWING LONGER.......
What I am trying to say is that your life will change the way you do things, what you want to do, but in the end, you get what you want the most. L O N G H A I R....peace young man, you will get what you want, persevere, and time will allow you to do what you really want to do, grow your hair longer, longer, longer, and do not let anyone convince you to do anything other than G R O W your hair.........

I agree, you did do the RIGHT thing at the time. You had a family to support, and you did what you had to do to take care of them. It's too bad that people can be closed minded about insignificant things like length of hair, but many are, and you did what you felt you had to do!

Have you considered talking to a professional counselor? I'm not joking or mocking you at all, guy. This sounds like a seious obsession that needs looking into to see if it results from something else going on in your life. I realize many people are obseesed with one thing or another, but you mentioned that this urge came on suddenly. Think about talking to someone, seriously.
